My understanding was that one... ONE 744 guy made 50 grand last December. One month out of the year, one guy out of over 12,000.

YEAH!!! That puts our average way above WN!

DPA or no DPA this is what must be. Don't try to dismiss DPA as fracturing ALPA in regard to negotiations. If DALPA is the one representing Delta Pilots in negotiations all its members are behind them getting the best contract. There should be no excuses: GET IT RIGHT. Very well said, Jesse. My feelings exactly. The average SWA Captain makes over $230K/year. If my pay as a narrowbody domestic Captain is not going to be at least $230K/year on day one of the new contract, it's a solid NO. It's time to either **** or get off the pot for DALPA. I'm tired of the excuses. Got tired a long time ago.

Really? With all due respect, you are mistaken at least in my reality.

My last trip was with a reserve 777 Capt. He made $165K last year. I made $165K in years 3, 4 and 5 at DAL as an FO.

I flew a trip 2 months ago with a senior 777 A who got a greenslip about every other month and made $280K...I know this because as we taxied past a SWA jet I said "the capt of that 130 seat jet makes more than you do." He said "I made $280K last year, but I worked my a$$ off for it."

My taxable W-2 last year from DAL was almost an even $125K that was with about 50% reserve 50% lineholder.

I dont trip park and I green and whiteslip when it fits into my life and the trips are available. I haven't had a greenslip in 3 years and whiteslips are slim to none. I do commute. And I know we are underpaid. WAY underpaid. If 777B cant make what you say the "average" DAL pilot makes, who can?

Carl, I have no doubt that your line statistics are accurate. You however leave out just a few things like Vacation pay, Reroute Pay, Training Pay, White Slips, Greenslips ect.... They actually pay you for those things also. Some pilots choose to make as little as possible. Others choose to make as much as they can. As I mentioned the average pilot at Delta credits about 87 hours a month.
Your statement was simple. You said the AVERAGE SW copilot makes WAY more then the AVERAGE DELTA CAPTAIN.

Sadly after having it up only 5 minutes I had to pull my bet post with Carl after being told you can't gamble here. I could have used the money. I ask again CARL to produce numbers backing your statement the AVERAGE COPILOT at SW make more then the AVERAGE CAPTAIN at DELTA. Cite a source. I will give you the MIT data mined from airline government reports.

In 2010 a year without profit sharing the average PILOT at Delta made 142K. The average pilot at SW made 166K. 2011 will be closer since we had a 4 percent raise. That is from government form 40 reports.
In no way am I saying that we make enough or make what SW is making. What I am saying is that you lose all credibility when you make statements like THE AVERAGE SW COPILOT MAKES WAY MORE THEN THE AVERAGE DELTA CAPTAIN.

Remember your W2 is not your income. If you cite income made at SW you need to use the same base at Delta. My W2 did not include 16,500 to the 401k, 5000 to the 401k catchup and 6000 to the health account. To arrive at a income number for comparison purposes you have to add all that back into the W2 number. For me thats a 26,500 dollar a year addition.

Still I was hoping to MD to the 777 in DTW, now I have now Idea what I am going to do!
