Neither do we though except in valley months in fat categories. Both of which are rapidly going away. Going forward we might see a few top reserves get LC early in the month in large categories for a few days but 6-7 SC plus open time trips when they are tight in staffing will result in very, very little LC for anyone most of the time.

Yeah.. uh.. no. Ours is more likely to be thru a ton of training and movement in the future whereas theirs is mainly a contractual hole. DAL will probably not man anything toooooo thin because of the GS factor. Rolling thunder gets expensive, and when the senior guys are *****ing themselves out... it feeds on itself. You may disagree however...

First of all, the 777 is banded with the 787, 767-4, and 340.
Second, how about those work rules? You might be right that our pay RATES are better, but our work rules SUCK in comparison to what USAirways pilots will have. How's that for the pilots of the most profitable and best run airline finis?
When in the hell is this pilot group going to stand up for itself.

This has always been a major fail at DAL. DAL pilots have always looked at only the pay rates. They were famous for never looking beyond the rate at duty rigs or work rules that put money in the pocket or made for better quality of life.
Its been a failing since well before my time. It's also a reason why I have consistently voted against contracts through the years. It's all about work rules for me. I want to work less and get paid more.
This is why, in my estimation, SWA does well. Their pay rate doesn't reflect their paycheck. Their W2 is larger because of this issue.
It would take real sea change for our focus to change. I really don't expect it in my lifetime. One can hope.

tsquare and johnso29 will soon chime in to say that rolling around in dog**** is actually good for the skin, and maneuvering on one's knees is great physical conditioning.

DALPA could push a contract requiring us to roll around in dog**** and give the chief pilot a rub and a tug after every rotation, and 60% of us would be falling over ourselves to vote yes to "help the company."

Per the latest all pilots memo, that is something that is expected to be done after a gatehouse PA, but prior to voluntarily placing yourself on a voluntary 2-hour callout for long call.
