He also used to have his own cooking show. He's launched fashions in Milan and Peachtree City. Hemingway used him for inspiration, and hunting advice. He's not really the most interesting man in the world, but when he speaks, he uses similar vowels and consonants, as the most interesting man in the world.

I am a fence sitter right now on DPA vs. ALPA and depending on the day my leanings change from one to the other.

This entire recall process from the MEC has me pretty disgusted with the MEC and it's internal politics. To have started recall maneuvering within the first portion of KR's term and then saying he is ineffective because he can't work with those same people is beyond words to me.

It is this stuff that makes me think DPA is the way to go, then I get DPA emails. These emails talk about heavy handed reps pressuring pilots at their layover hotels and spending dues money in the bars. I ran into two sets of reps/volunteers this last week. Both were courteous and respectful and I didn't get a single free drink! I gave them my opinion on the sham that was the recall as well as my opinion on a return to a Moakesque choice. No confrontation just a respectful back and forth.

In the end both groups are the same. They have their inner circle of people and thoughts on how things will be done. The names are different but the people are the same. Both groups are us, Delta pilots, that want the best for the DAL pilots. They just have different ideas on how to get this done.

I wish I knew which was best for all of us. I am getting tired of this back and forth fighting and need this resolved. I will say this I agree with others on here I will be fully behind ALPA as of 2014 if no vote is forthcoming. It will be time for 11000 of us to be going in the same direction for C2015... I want my money, scope, and retirement!

Alpa is like the Titanic. You can't change the direction from being on the boat and the Captain won't listen. The only choice is to get off and find another ride. DPA will only represent Delta pilots and that's the way is should be. I WAS a fence sitter, but now I'm on board with DPA. Fill out a card and at least let a vote happen. That way all of the Delta pilot's can decide and move forward.

If 4-8-3-3, a reduction in profit sharing, and an extra point towards your 401k is a win....

If more 76 seaters and preferential hiring (what are we doing wasting our capitol on that) is a win.....

Then by all means stick with ALPA.

As a M88A I'm still making $48 an hour less than my old C2K rate. I guess for some that "recovery" rate is acceptable. For me almost 10 years later, it's not.

Too much stuff going on a the national level, as well as internal BS politics within DALPA by and entrenched group of pilots that have forgot what life is like on the line!

Years ago there was no Agency Shop and with the exception of a few everyone was a proud member of ALPA.

Now it's like they have our money so FU. I'd love to know what the membership would look like today without the "gun" of agency shop at their disposal.

I bet they would pay more attention to our voice, contract surveys, con postion papers, etc.

So DPA will get you $48 more an hour and no agency shop? Cool. Sign me up. As long as I don't have to be a member and pay dues, I'm right there with ya bud. I am perfectly happy to let the guys that like to do that sort of stuff do the heavy lifting. And with DPA I won't have to pay for it either. I like that even more. Sic 'em, woof woof woof.

T;
I will have to infer from what you wrote that we left no money on the table in your eyes.

Or, are you just in the mode to throw a grenade into every thread?
