ALPA was about to screw the pilot profession with their "Comprehensive Approach to RLA amendments" except that CAPA stepped up to the plate with their stronger language.

ALPA needs to go the way of the Dodo bird!

"Worse yet you might end up with ALPA as the final arbiter for a lot of RJ carriers going against your one off in-house."

That should not scare anyone, ALPA seems to lose a lot of fights if they decide to show up at all. ALPA National is a scourge to the pilot profession.

EF, what is the total compensation that the current president of ALPA makes?
Are you asking this because you tried to figure it out & your calculator didn’t have enough spaces?

He gets:

-- max monthly pay at the highest equip he can hold....PLUS A 26% BONUS / OVERRIDE plus...

-- lots of PENSION $$$$ plus...

-- $45,000.00 a year “service allowance” plus...

--TWO “relocation allowances” plus...

-- ONE “dislocation allowance” plus...

-- $7000.00 A MONTH.....for “housing” plus...

-- $1,700.00 A MONTH.....for “meals” plus...

-- $1,700.00 A MONTH....for "traveling" plus...

-- a NEW CAR, that’s worth $1,200.00 A MONTH plus...

-- to go to FLL on our dime & live it up in the WESTIN DIPLOMAT. (It’s funny that you never see aircrews staying there).

Plus some more bennies that are buried in the ALPA FEED TROUGH MANUAL.

Put your calculator away. I don't think you really want to know the answer.

It may seem outrageous for a Labor leader but this job is the top spot of a 100~ million dollar a year organization and 53,000 pilots.

I disagree on this point. You can't defend the compensation package enjoyed by ALPA's president. There are plenty of people that are willing to go along with a reform of ALPA, from within. The sentiment that our current and recent presidents have not been woerth their salary is almost universal, and I share it. This anger is what DPA is trying clumsily to leverage into a power grab. The fact they are allegedly members of old ALPA administrations that were forced aside is irony defined. Nonetheless, in the absent of any other message or platform, seems to me that anger is their gravy train.

You're standing on the tracks.

By debating on behalf of Prater (a futile effort if I've ever seen one), you're debating for DPA. You're probably losing the center of the pilot group, who are disappointed in Prater, but smart enough to see DPA would be a huge step down.

Sink, I am not defending it, I am stating where the logic came from. I too agree that given where the majority of the pilots that this organization represents have been it needs to be changed and before another person is seated in that office.

It is a position that demands a lot of responsibility, but it is also a position that needs moderation. It is like a guy that runs a NPO driving around in a Porsche. Yes, it makes sense but the perception it gives off is not a good one.

I think it is more than apparent that I want to fix what is wrong with ALPA not whistle past the grave yard.

There will be no power grab! If ALPA is decertified, there will be elections by the members for EVERY leadership position. Why do you continue to state that the guys who started the website will be the ones who have "grabbed power" if DPA successfully decertifies ALPA?

This isn't Cuba. No power grabs, just elections.
