"Worse yet you might end up with ALPA as the final arbiter for a lot of RJ carriers going against your one off in-house."
That should not scare anyone, ALPA seems to lose a lot of fights if they decide to show up at all. ALPA National is a scourge to the pilot profession.

EF, what is the total compensation that the current president of ALPA makes?
He gets:
-- max monthly pay at the highest equip he can hold....PLUS A 26% BONUS / OVERRIDE plus...
-- lots of PENSION $$$$ plus...
-- $45,000.00 a year “service allowance” plus...
--TWO “relocation allowances” plus...
-- ONE “dislocation allowance” plus...
-- $7000.00 A MONTH.....for “housing” plus...
-- $1,700.00 A MONTH.....for “meals” plus...
-- $1,700.00 A MONTH....for "traveling" plus...
-- a NEW CAR, that’s worth $1,200.00 A MONTH plus...
-- to go to FLL on our dime & live it up in the WESTIN DIPLOMAT. (It’s funny that you never see aircrews staying there).
Plus some more bennies that are buried in the ALPA FEED TROUGH MANUAL.
Put your calculator away. I don't think you really want to know the answer.

You're standing on the tracks.
By debating on behalf of Prater (a futile effort if I've ever seen one), you're debating for DPA. You're probably losing the center of the pilot group, who are disappointed in Prater, but smart enough to see DPA would be a huge step down.

Sink, I am not defending it, I am stating where the logic came from. I too agree that given where the majority of the pilots that this organization represents have been it needs to be changed and before another person is seated in that office.
It is a position that demands a lot of responsibility, but it is also a position that needs moderation. It is like a guy that runs a NPO driving around in a Porsche. Yes, it makes sense but the perception it gives off is not a good one.
I think it is more than apparent that I want to fix what is wrong with ALPA not whistle past the grave yard.

This isn't Cuba. No power grabs, just elections.
