Delta Pilots Association

I'd be excited if they were working exclusively for us...not us and the regionals.
From a DFR standpoint, those "sharp" guys are required to work just as hard to help DCI, Alaska (and others who would be thrilled to take my job) as they do to improve my pay and QOL..right? Please tell me if that's incorrect.
Since I'm basically paying those top guns to help non-Delta pilots lower the bar and put me on the street, I'm afraid I don't share your boundless enthusiasm.
You know what, if we keep Delta pilots' dues money in-house instead of sending it to be wasted by national, I bet we can hire those folks (or even better) to work exclusively for us.
Until then, please don't rub my nose in the fact that I'm paying top-notch guys to ruin my career.

ALPA's is only a potential litmus test - and only if AA fragments and Delta is a purchaser of a large piece. I dont know where you stand on the whole fair play and karma side of the fence, but as is well documented, when AA bought the bankrupt TWA, they did not treat the TWA pilots as equals. Would ALPA do the same in return?
Go it alone representation wrt ALPA is IMO logical in a world where your company is doing well, but can bite you or favor you in any future merger. ALPA's track record is a little weak lately, but I think they are getting first dibs on our opener. I also think in an AA / DAL merger scenario, it may be slightly better to be associated with ALPA rather than independant...I could be wrong.

I repeat: Why are we not more worried about this? As much as I despise the ALPA propaganda apparatus, they are doing an outstanding job of lying, denying, and counter-accusing--all the while, making complete stooges out of us.
Of course, our complacency and ignorance is making it easy for them.
I'd like to hear one of the ALPA folks on the record saying that there is no way this will cost us thousands (tens of thousands?) apiece going forward. I won't hold my breath.
Time for a new bargaining agent.

George III would have been much more successful ruling the Colonies if he could just "focus on the issues instead of infighting," right?
If ALPA were addressing real issues brought up by real Delta pilots, there would be a lot less "infighting."
But hey, I have a shiny new ALPA card with a QR code! Tell you what--you keep your QR code, and the rest of us will keep our money in the Delta pilot group. Deal?

Because "alpa has insurance for this." Sad isn't it? Seems that a third of the pilot group is worried. Not sure how many more screw ups the rest of the pilots are going to take before they say enough.

I've been trying to stay away because I knew this post would make 6000, but have you guys read this latest "product of the Delta MEC Communications Committee" regarding the TWA lawsuit? Sounds exactly like one of slowplay or alfaromeo or reroute's posts. Unbelievably unprofessional and loaded with personal opinion trying to be portrayed as fact. Although it was unsigned (you can understand why), you could almost see one slowplay's tongue sticking out emoticons at the end of each sentence.
This is what our full time flight pay loss bureaucrats do for a living? Do they not know that management also reads this stuff?
How utterly weak and embarrassing.

Of course when you can't respond with facts, don't let making up things stop you. Seems that DPA has been quite good at that!
