Go read it. They will have to support their own budgets and when they cannot support a S/T they will not have one, plus a few other jewels.

Their budgets will have to align with their dues intake.

As for the NHL, good luck getting them on a RJ. Just checked the NHL stuff and only saw one charter for their staff. No charters on anything, not even an RJ.
That's all fine and dandy. But what airline company did those teams, or whoever, contract a charter flight from I'm willing to put some $ down it wasn't with ASA, Skywest, Compass, Mesaba, Pinnacle, etc!

I've been thinking about the whole ALPA vs CAPA lobbying thing... and I absolutely agree with you. Once CAPA has some seriously large pilot groups (like us) amongst their ranks, CAPA will easily surpass ALPA as the go to agency for all things pilot.

That changeover sounds like a great time for foreign ownership. It is when I would pull that one off.

Doubtful- if foreign ownership happens ALPA will get steamrolled when it's desired regardless.

ALPA will just let it happen and say "it was going to happen anyway, so we had some influence on it."

Hey, Bearskin is a cool name. Can we continue to subsidize them?

ALPA works on larger issues and fights those on the National and international level. ALPA's support network allows MEC's to fight for the future they want or deem they want. Again, ATN's decision are poof positive of that.
And if ALPA is doing this, it is also helping APA, SWAPA, etc....... How much do they contribute to ALPA for this? I would bet it is a BIG FAT NADA!

100% of Delta pilot dues must be used for Delta pilots!

It benefits FDX and it benefits you. The cutout would be bad for you and all of that underbelly freight that helps our bottom line.

It is meant to scare you. I often wonder if anyone thinks of the ramifications of major actions like leaving ALPA.
