Pay: SWA+, and indexed up for bigger jets
Sick Leave: get rid of 75% rule
Reserve: put seniority back in reserve
Medical: lower medical premiums for all, especially retirees
What's yours?

This is good, PG. Now what's your beef with Carl again?

See, we do have common ground. I put all of the above in my contract survey except I also said: scope reeled in (recapture flying), Do away with the Alaska open ended non-restriction, 401k to the 415c limit (do your letters to washington), etc.

Either way we can't wait decades for SWA parity plus just because they waited decades for DL parity plus. SWA plus reasonable premiums in all areas is a DOS necessity. I will wait as long as it takes, and strike as long as it takes, however long it takes to get to that point, to achieve that bare bones minimum. And that includes scope.
I think we can achieve SWA+ in the upcoming contract, BUT, if it becomes obvious we cannot, then I'll take something rather than nothing. Again, IF AND ONLY IF, it becomes obvious we can't achieve that, I'm willing to accept something rather than nothing.
You guys can take the APA path, and sit there waiting for what's "fair"... never achieving it... but somehow thinking you won. Unbelievable.

Yes, I'll take 5/4/4/4 over 0/0/0/0. And you wouldn't?
I disagree.
So, what you are saying is, IF IT IS NOT ACHIEVABLE, you would prefer 0/0/0/0/3/1/1/1 as it now looks like APA is looking at, as opposed to 5/4/4/4. Sorry, I'm not interested.

I dont think thats what Gloopy is saying. I think he is saying what you are saying.

The big beef I have with both you and Carl, is you both think if we just set an objective of XX, then we can achieve it, without any consideration of the negotiating environment, economic environment, financial strength of Delta, industry peer group, etc. etc. etc.
I have my own goals and objectives; but I am also a realist. If we can achieve those --- great. If it becomes obvious we cannot, I'd rather take something than nothing.
As the APA strategy is now entering the final stages, all of you that were so proud of them standing firm, really need to reassess the strategy of "standing firm until i get what I want". In the end, APA stood firm, but NEVER got what they wanted.
