I've already told you. 25 million is the last funding requirement I saw. If it's more, then take that number and divide it up as the FNWA guy's paycut. Now can the company afford to give us the entire SWAPA contract? Now will you MEC guys demand it?

First, I'm not an MEC guy.

Second, from the latest Form 5500, the annual payment is north of $100 million, so dividing that up among the top 1000 fNWA guys means a $100,000 reduction for each and every one.

Talk to the other 999 and let me know what they say. I'm sure here on the forum as an anonymous poster you'd gladly say you'll do that -- somehow I suspect it'd be different in real life.

With the SWAPA contract I'd be making north of 400k easily and have a rock solid scope. And since the the top 2000 plus NWA guys have a DB plan, it would be about a 50k paycut for us. So, increase my pay 200k plus, then take away 50k for the pension funding. Sign me up!

NOW can we demand the SWAPA contract???

How do you figure? The #1 guy at SWA makes $210/hr; how you gonna fly almost 2000 hours under their contract?

Oh let me guess; you really don't want ALL of their contract do you?

This is part of the constant misunderstanding of what is actually in the SWAPA contract. Many captains there make over 300k per year without breaking a sweat. This is because of their tremendous work rules. It's not all about hourly rates. Given we would need premiums above the 737 based on capacity, that's why I would easily make north of 400k.

So yes, I want the ENTIRE SWAPA contract. If you knew what was in it, you would too.

Now I understand. You want MORE than the SWAPA contract, for your super premium wide body. Fair enough, just admit it.

PG;

Whats your wish list? I know we have common ground somewhere. Is it just job security or is there more to your equation?

Yes, and I don't know how that relationship ended either.
Thank you for admitting you are mindlessly following the choices Tim has made WRT legal advice. You were THERE for the AMFA/PFAA debacles, but didn't pay attention. You've had a problem with ALPA "for years", yet you haven't done squat to fully vet the alternatives.

You're just angry.

Just what we need...an angry guy who can't be bothered to do any checking.

Your crusade is withering.

Withering?

You gotta get out more. I have recently flown with 4 captains who asked me for a card to mail in, I didn't even bring up the topic.

The negotiating school of thought that says its better to get a 5/4/4/4 contract now than to suffer under the status quo for years. I thought you were of that opinion, but maybe I'm confusing you with someone else. Anyway the problem with that theory is if that stratedgy is to be followed, we have already reached our peak.

Either way we can't wait decades for SWA parity plus just because they waited decades for DL parity plus. SWA plus reasonable premiums in all areas is a DOS necessity. I will wait as long as it takes, and strike as long as it takes, however long it takes to get to that point, to achieve that bare bones minimum. And that includes scope.
