The SMRA cannot legally be taken with DAL pilots if they leave ALPA.

The single biggest link on their webpage highlighted in the brightest color is their request for donations. So far the response can only be called pitiful. Anyone can get 25 percent of the pilots to sign up for almost anything. Especially after a merger with some feeling they were cheated somehow in binding arbitration. Then you sign people up by saying over and over again that its just a card and does not mean you are voting for DPA. I am actually really surprised they are not much closer to 50 percent. I do find it a bit misleading that after selling membership as just a card DPA supporters talk like every member is a sure vote yet when signing people up they say the opposite.
Their lack of transparency between current and valid cards on file and members is also telling. Post both numbers on the front of the webpage if tranparency is really a goal.

The only people I've seen making this assertion are folks (like yourself) on a web board trying to smear DPA.

From the DPA web site FAQ's:

"There is a rumor floating around that DPA is seeking to overturn the Seniority List Integration. Is this true?

Absolutely not! That is a rumor being spread by ALPA proponents that is simply ridiculous. The list is permanent and not changeable. Anyone who is suggesting this idea should be challenged to describe a method for this to occur. They won’t be able to. The issue is dead and we are moving forward unified."

Did it happen in the old days (i.e. 20+ years ago) - YES
Is it wrong, imo - YES
Has it happened in a very long time - NO
Didn't O.C Miller make jump from ALPA to management? Also less than 10 yrs ago after Duane Worth left ALPA as president,I forget the details but I think he went into NWA management for a bit.I believe he was listed as special projects.

Try asking this question? Would DPA advocate structural changes in how we pay pilots and how flying time is constructed and awarded that might serve as a way around the SLI. I got kind of a deer in the headlights look when I asked that of a DPA rep in DTW. He said they were pondering some changes in compensation methods but did not really want to go into details and everything is conjecture at this point.
I do however find it interesting you jump on the SLI aspect. I was not implying in the post that DPA would try and change it. Undoing binding arbitration is much harder then overturning a court ruling. I don't think anyone thinks a SLI change is even remotely possible. There are however many other options to make the SLI less pertinent then it is today.

So from the front pages of delta-pilots.org and dal.alpa.org:

Sailing I circled the number that mattered in red on the dpa website but I also want to ask why there isn't a donate to DALPA box on the dal-alpa.org website? I made one up to maybe inspire dalpa to add one?

Shouldn't we be donating extra to the cause? Really is 1.95% enough? And I'm not talking about the ALPA PAC or any of the charities, but strictly money to go to DALPA's operation and I guess also ALPA national, why not?

I have a question regarding the upcoming DPA meeting in ATL for those in the know. I see there will be some ALPA guys attending. Are they looking to contribute ideas to the DPA group or just some ALPA guys trying to stir the pot and cast doubt....c*ck blockers if you will?
