Just to play devils advocate here reroute. Yes DPA could have done a better job. They need(ed) to get more creative
However. Were they allowed to set up tables or communicate in crew lounges?
Did ALPA strongly threaten against leaving items (stickers, cards, stc.) in the cockpit?
Point being, every effort was made to hobble them from the get go by ALPA and the company. Its that darn recovery compact again

Same difference I guess.

Or instead of inventing a conspiracy, you could reference Federal Law (as governed by the RLA) as regards to ALPA being the exclusive bargaining agent for the pilots of Delta Air Lines, and DAL Inc. being subject to a lawsuit by ALPA if they permitted another prospective union from setting up shop on Company property.
Same difference I guess.

Used to see their stuff in hotels, that stopped too.
The key is communications. It will be the lynch pin for success or failure for DPA or DALPA.

Or maybe its because out of the 1900 who have sent in cards, they can't find more than 2 willing to be base reps. Face it, the majority of those who sent in a card, are mad at ALPA..... but not willing to actually do anything more to make things better, whether that's working within the union, or actively trying to change it.

Ever think that they are sick of ALPA not listening to them, and were the ALPA guys to reach out and not have that haughty "I know better than you" overtone, they might break through?

I mean if we voted every year or even every 2-3 years of halfway between the contract? A vote of confidence or no-confidence?
Seems harmless to me, only 1900 pilots of 12,000 would vote them out right? So there is nothing for ALPA to fear and the idea of the DPA would be washed aside. It's a win win.
Right?

Asking cause I'm curious.

I've read many of your posts and understand your reasoning behind sticking with ALPA. It's a solid argument and one of the reasons that I feel ok with things staying as they are. What I don't get is the tone. Why are you so angry/bitter at DPA?

Also, I think their motive for leaving ALPA, is simply frustration. I get that. I am equally frustrated with many of the things ALPA does. But I am equally impressed with those I know who do ALPA work, and know they are pilots just like you and me who really want what's best for DAL pilots -- and are willing to spend countless hours trying to make it so.
Whereas, what I see from most of those supporting DPA is someone who wants to replace the current service, but have no intentions of stepping up and doing the heavy lifting to ensure the replacement is up to the task.
1900 cards; two base reps. What else needs to be said?

True dat, but then again, you could say the same about the forum... I know, there is a little bit of difference in the two, but my point is that as long as the orange envelope (I remember when they were blue) keeps comong.. most guys couldn't care less about any of this.
