Delta Pilots Association

Because Satch thinks it will cause Delta to become unprofitable and he will get furloughed. He has his military retirement and doesn't need anymore out of this career than what he's already got. Screw the rest of us who have spent half our lives building this career only to have it torn down unnecessarily. We have to make sure we don't rock the boat so Satch doesn't get furloughed and suffer a setback in his 3 year (so far) airline career. (Note that I don't think a restorative contract will result in any of that... just trying to paraphrase what Satch seems to be so afraid of.)

I've told you what I want. I don't want to be paid the most, I want to be paid the longest.
As for BOB, it may have worked then but you can't go to the well too many times. Guys got sued for not flying overtime. There is too much of an electronic trail these days that can be subpoenaed.
Besides, how did BOB work for NWA? I thought all those guys were commuters?

Fly safe.....another great one. The deWalt of the tool kit.

BOB worked at NWA because despite being commuters, the thought of working under that subpar of a contract overshadowed the need to get home. "Fly safe" worked at ASA... there are legal ways to ensure the company feels the pressure.
I've read what you said and I agree, but I don't agree with your thought process at all as to what that actually means. Having read your posts over and over again, I really don't think you realize what you're saying... it wreaks of a spine with the strength of a wet noodle or even (not calling you this at all, just comparison) what i've seen written by scabs justifying what they've done.
For you, it seems that getting paid the longest means just settling for mediocrity when we should be paid like the top notch professionals that we are (and mgmt says we are over and over...).
Show me the money!

What I mean is I don't want the biggest paycheck for a few years and then bumpkiss for 5. I would much rather have the second or third highest payrate and have that for the next 15 years.
The difference between the senior guys who what huge rates (restoration) and me is if I get what I want, no one loses their job. I don't have the power to vote their jobs away for scope or rigs. They do have that power and have done it multiple times over the years.
Time for bed. I'll expand more tomorrow.

LOL. If you figure out how to embed it, let me know. Otherwise, you can post the video by copying/pasting the link into your post. Highlight the link. Then click on the "insert link" symbol and paste the link in the box that pops up.
Oh... if you're editing your post to put the video in, you'll also have to click the "Go Advanced" button to get the "insert link" symbol for your use.

Call this a refresher for the more junior segment of the seniority list: Get your hands on C2K and look at what you would be getting paid under that contract.
Ask yourself why you became a commercial airline pilot: Because it was commercially enriching.
I was getting paid $165/hr as a 5th year fo. Junior pilots had money then. Now, not so much. MO MONEY, MO TIME OFF

All us junior guys have make sure we don't rock the boat so DAL88 doesn't have to give up his Lexus and his beach home. Screw the rest of us who will be living on unemployment checks.
The difference is clear. What I am advocating is market based increases in our contract value, starting with rules and scope to ensure the maximum amount of people in our union. What you care about is your wallet and you don't give a hoot how many people below you are cut so you can make your $350 per hour.
Life ain't Windows. You don't get to hit the "Restore" button. Look forward, guys.
And as for retirement, you had that opportunity. Besides, what you makes dwarfs what I make combined.
