You guys got took on C2K. The suits saw you coming and offered you huge raises for work rule concessions and scope language. They saw the recession coming and had CH11 in their sights. 9/11 only accelerated the decline in the economy and moved up the plans. They knew they could get the pay back but the rules and scope were gone forever.
For someone who rails against evil management and gives them omnipotent powers to screw with you I'm surprised you don't see that.

"The suits saw you coming"?... now that's funny.

The Spirit strike was a big deal. Spirit tried to fly through their pilots' strike and ALPA's line held. Management was forced back to the table because of ALPA's stranglehold.
As a strike veteran (which I respect immensely), do you think DPA can hold a line like ALPA just did?

Not really. I don't think that is it at all. I think that when people found out that secretaries at national make more than many FOs.. and that Prater took home 4oo large.. I think that is what is doing it. I know that is what did it for me anyway.

First the pilot group has to be relevant. Arguably, Lufthansia has outsourced enough to be irrelevant. We are still relevant, but if represented by DPA I'm not sure our codeshare partners would hold our line.
