On the political comments, they are boarderline. Was waiting for someone to truly cross the line before I sent a post in for the mods to comment about it and make a group decision. If you do not like a post report it and we will discuss it.

If these changes die due to lobbying by pilots who predominately fly during daylight hours than we will all be the poorer.

Yea, stand by my words. Do think killing the changes, on mass, is worth saving 8 in 24??

I don't know enough about the entire bill, but like Carl said, adding time/day does nothing to reduce fatigue. It is the whole RJ argument all over again with a different subject. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree...

Flight and duty time changes doesn't equal scope giveaways. Different issues.

So, tsquare, you're saying a bill with 9 positive changes and 1 negative one should be killed because of that 1 negative? Seriously, I'm asking a legitimate question. Of course, we'd like 10 positives, or at least 9 positives and zero negatives, but those may or may not realistically be options.

So, is 9 good and 1 bad better than no change?

You state that my quoting the US Speaker of the House on a legislative matter is a violation of this site's TOS. I think you're wrong yet again, and are using the threat of a TOS violation to stop speech that you personally disagree with. I think it's a pathetic example of how weak the foundation upon which your arguments are built. So let's take it to the moderators.

Moderators (other than ACL): Was my quoting the US Speaker of the House on a matter of legislation a violation of APC's TOS?

If this effort has been truly successful... and a mutually respectful relationship does indeed exist... then why would we even think RA would have any desire to "divide and conquer" us? (For that matter, how do you explain that we continue to make emergency/BK wages long after the emergency/BK is over?? How does that fit into this "mutually respectful relationship?") If you buy into LM's premise of proactive engagement/relationship building, then RA should want what is best for us, not view us as an adversary to be crushed.

I know what I think about all that. What do you think?

Wow, now I wonder if you're a pilot at all. Yes I can go to 16 and beyond because I have an AUGMENTED CREW AND A BUNK TO SLEEP IN! These new rules allow for domestic coast to coast turn arounds with 2 pilots. These new rules allow for east coast to deep in Europe with 2 pilots. I'll say it again...adding 1 hour to a two man crew does NOT improve fatigue.

You seem intent on talking about your freight flying as being something different than others. It's not. Most freight guys I know understand that, so I won't get too worked up as I think you are a poor example of how freight guys think. I think you are an excellent example of a true ALPA believer and a lover of what any bureaucracy decides.
