Delta Pilots Association

On the political comments, they are boarderline. Was waiting for someone to truly cross the line before I sent a post in for the mods to comment about it and make a group decision. If you do not like a post report it and we will discuss it.

Domestic flying, during day time compared to decreases in allowable duty time?? YGTBK If your flying intl as I assume you are, you know what long duty days are. We can fly to 16hrs, you I believe to 15. If you think there would be no give and take, and I think giving an extra hour of flying during the day is a reasonable give, than we won't agree to much.
If these changes die due to lobbying by pilots who predominately fly during daylight hours than we will all be the poorer.
Everything else secondary, my A$$

I don't know enough about the entire bill, but like Carl said, adding time/day does nothing to reduce fatigue. It is the whole RJ argument all over again with a different subject. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree...

So, is 9 good and 1 bad better than no change?
#1347
That's my point. The moderators have usually been quite strict about this kind of political stupidity, but recently it seems that people's comments that sway towards one side of the coin are allowed. I was hoping to try to get all of this nonsense removed rather than try to make any real point. By the way, I don't agree with your comments about ALPA, but that is not what I was talking about.
Moderators (other than ACL): Was my quoting the US Speaker of the House on a matter of legislation a violation of APC's TOS?

Maybe you could explain this point of view a little further, ACL. I don't really understand why RA would have any desire to "divide and conquer" a valuable asset to his company. Furthermore, a lot of time and effort has been put in by LM and his administration to supposedly build a relationship through proactive engagement and partnership in our future. If this effort has been truly successful... and a mutually respectful relationship does indeed exist... then why would we even think RA would have any desire to "divide and conquer" us? (For that matter, how do you explain that we continue to make emergency/BK wages long after the emergency/BK is over?? How does that fit into this "mutually respectful relationship?") If you buy into LM's premise of proactive engagement/relationship building, then RA should want what is best for us, not view us as an adversary to be crushed.
I know what I think about all that. What do you think?

You seem intent on talking about your freight flying as being something different than others. It's not. Most freight guys I know understand that, so I won't get too worked up as I think you are a poor example of how freight guys think. I think you are an excellent example of a true ALPA believer and a lover of what any bureaucracy decides.
