Just read the Council 20 update about the election and actions taken by the BOD. Not the BOD actions nor any of the LEC's personal comments addressed scope or regaining flying. Not one word. They talked of pay, work rules, FFDO, etc...but nothing about scope.
This is the new BOD guys, and this is the current LEC officers. Has someone prohibited them from using the words scope or the regaining of flying?
In...frickin....credible!

Here is a link to an article about the founder, Tim Caplinger. No smear campaign here.
Flew with the guy that wrote it a few times... very enjoyable guy to fly with.

There will probably be ties to the international airlines which will make Lee strongly support cabotage and foreign ownership. That's my bet.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about. If you did, you'd know that Lee wouldn't have won without near unanimous support from his own MEC (North and South) and the UAL MEC after Captain Rice dropped out. He also got the support of the Alaska MEC and the AirTran MEC in the end.
Much of Lee's campaign focused on preventing these things. I don't see him changing his tune.

PCL.... I distinctly remember you strongly towing the line for Prater a few years ago. Not a good track record.

I don't have a direct interest in this flight, but I would like to pose a few questions for those who do.
Who relaxed scope (pre 9/11 and BK) at both DAL and NWA??
Who will fix this problem, what (would) be the difference between ALPA (national) and an independent in solving this?

We have a society that has an aversion to taking responsibility for its own screw ups. Your pilots agreed to relaxed scope, not Comair pilots, ASA, or Mesba pilots. Only your group can solve this probelm and your group will profit or suffer from the result (or lack there of) of your solution.
You want to leave ALPA because its poorly run, bloated, or not cost affective, fine. Just remember ALPA is an association of unions, with your fellow airline pilots.

True, some ALPA groups fly under your colors, but again, they did not create themselves, you and your fellow pilots at DAL and NWA let these companies be. As an independent, you will flight the fight alone. Good luck and God speed!
As far as independence, I would rather fight alone than with ALPA's help. Look no further than ALPA supporting 500 hr. minimums at 121s instead of 1500 hr. Who needs enemies when you have friends like ALPA!
Love the avatar!

He also doesn't believe ALPA is supporting the watering down of the 1500 hour rule.
Ought to be interesting to see what happens in January when in full support of the ATN pilots, Lee cuts off further funding for negotiations since they're going to SWA...of course, ATN will be welcomed to assess the membership to support negotiations and the merger...
Remember what he told you..."You obviously don't know what you're talking about..."
