The vagueness is a part of the rumor.

it's from the oracle of Delphi that told Croesus that if he waged war on Cyrus he would destroy a great empire, Croesus thought the oracle meant his enemy's empire. In fact, the empire Croesus destroyed by going to war was his own.
must be that same oracle.

Wish I knew more, but this was a memo from somebody that nows more than me. I was wondering if anybody else is hearing things. Somebody always knows something. What I got;

Republic has a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to buy a 50% stake (JV) in AMR Eagle, in exchange for AMR giving a 10 year Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA) on existing Eagle (MQ) and Midwest (YX) routes.

Default Mediated APA/AMR talks may be put on ice?

Maybe a new thread is in order for this topic, but to add to the AA recall mix - an interesting article with a full letter from APA President Bates... I hope AA pilots are able to get what they deserve and their careers returned to where they should be. It will be difficult for AMR to compete in the present-day industry without the goodwill of an experienced labor force to get the job done better than the strengthened competition. Assuring the employee groups get what their hard work deserves is the first step in building the foundation of growing a profitable product... IMO.

After that it's pure seniority, with Eagle having an additional few hundred slots already reserved at the bottom of the list (which may be declined), then an additional 824 from Eagle at 1:1 with street hires. Potentially 1300 Eagles could go by the time it's all said and done (that's half the list and why some say Eagle's basically already stapled by the arbitrator if any one-list discussions get serious).

Anywhere from 0-179 Eagles will flow by June. My guess is maybe 100 or so. Hopefully for everyone involved the recalls will continue after that.

Heard from somebody that AE is planning on losing around 160 FT's by April 2011. Has anybody seen the November class makeup on guys coming back from deferment and those from the last furloughed group? There are rumors that they increased the November class size and there were more guys defering when offered recall.

All Feb '10 furloughees are getting recalled. Many MLOAs and deferrals are staying out. Can you blame them?

Anybody know what the return rate has been for this latest recall of 250? (I think it was 250?) Just wondering how far down the list they had to go to get their number of returnees.

I don't know if they are stopping at 250. I heard they were doing two classes a month except for December because of the holidays. The class size was supposed to be 25-30 per class.
