Delta M88 Luggage Works Bag Storage?
I'm looking at the 22 inch Luggage Works bag. I will probably be switching to M88 here within the next year and wanted to hear from some mad dog guys that use this bag.
Where does the FO (at Delta) store their bag? Is there room in the cockpit for both pilot bags, or does the FO store his in the cabin/closet? Is the 22" going to fit in the cockpit? How about the bigger (illegal carry-on) 26 incher? I'd rather get the bigger bag, but I'm not sure if it will fit in the -88.
Anything that you guys like/don't like about the luggage works (stealth, metal frame) bag? I've got a POS travelpro that's falling apart on me.
Thanks

Heyas Leine,
Never was on the M88, but JSed on it a couple of times. In every case, the crew put their bags in the closet, and both fit. Heck, with a little elbow grease, you can get a 3rd Purdy Neat in there if it isn't over stuffed.
On the -9, no way. CA bag went behind his seat, and the FO bag went behind his. With a JS on the seat, you had to step outside to change your mind.
BTW, when are the M88 guys going to get the sun shields that were designed for the -9...they rock.

Do you think the bigger international size bag would fit in the closet?

The closet is accessible with the cockpit door closed and the international bag fits just fine. At least for now. Apparently, the M88/90's are currently being retrofitted with more seats and as part of that mod, the coat closet (among other things) is going away. Not sure where the bags will be stored then.

The international bags work fine in the 88 closet, until there isn't an 88 closet to put them in. Evidently we'll be using a bin on the bottom of the forward FA closet or something.
By the way, when I was new on the 88 someone taught me how to put you're bags in the closet without fighting with the cargo net. You simply undo all but the bottom horizontal link and then put one bag in and then lay it flat on that bottom horizontal link and put the other on top of it and pull the bottom one up and you're done. Fast and easier than typing on an iPhone.

the closet on the mod aicraft is not going away, but it is getting smaller, and will only fit one bag. The other pilot will store his bag in a dedicated compartment aft of the forward galley. They issued a AOM bulletin that tells the size of the closet - you might be able to find that somewhere on deltanet. Seems like it was larger than most caryon bags, but I don't remember the exact dimensions.

It bothers me that I will not be able to have access to or be able to police my bag during a flight. Now anyone has access to your bag and can steal or place unwanted items in there.
