Remember, there is a class start date for Indoctrination and then a start date for training. My training date (Sims and Operational Experience) didn't start until a month after Indoc. For those that had 75/76s, they waited much longer due to a backlog in the training department.
We all know how military friendly DAL is with military pilots, but what about us enlisted types? Does that carry any weight with it when applying/interviewing?

If you have a college degree and you're flying, it shouldn't matter.

Yes like in a multi pilot / crew airplane in the military (or cargo) where the aircraft commander is logging PIC while napping in the back. That will certainly make for some funky numbers in your log book. Just be able to explain it all in a methodical, logical, ethical, and legal manner.

Delta places a lot of value on supervisor, management and leadership experience. They know that all three are taught and provided in the military. If you have the other qualifications the military service will be a plus even if it was not as a pilot.
Every pilot Delta interviews can more then likely do the flying. They are looking for pilots who can manage a flight when things are not going well both in the air and on the ground. With the huge increase in international making the right or wrong call on when to shutdown the operation can get expensive for the company in many locations.

Was told that the pilots interviewing are signing a letter stating they will not talk about the process or testing. That explains why they are not posting anything.

The worst they will tell you is to keep your app updated.
I called...I described the interview in '08, and the potential offer to come back after the original 6 months had elapsed. The person I spoke with was unsure of how to proceed, and suggested I email the pilot selection group with the question. Unfortunately, when I sent an email, a generic response was returned so I'm not sure if anyone ever saw it. I guessing probably not, considering the number of applicants....

I didn't post anything until I was already well established in class- there was such a small group of us that I didn't want to be narrowed down, or to say something stupid and lose my job because of an internet forum. I love to help other pilots but I wasn't risking that!

The silence of my phone is deafening.
This applies to all! Under no circumstances should you Call the Pilot Employment Office! - "But I just want to get noticed" - You'll get noticed all right - right into the circular file.

BTW, FWIW - They look at (and consider) "everything" from your Total Time, to your college degree to whether or not you applied before we announced hiring or afterward (as a knee-jerk type deal.) All in all, if you look like the right fit, they'll call!

Internal recs and patience is the best plan, good luck!!!
