That's the "in" thing lately, filing lawsuits.

Lately?

The minute the first judge accepted a ridiculous lawsuit into his courtroom is when America as we know it became this huge battle of "will I get sued"

It's not whether or not I should do this because it's ethical, will give me money, pleasure or will save my costs. It's "will I get sued?"

Didn't USAir stop the pay-for-drinks campaign after some bad press over people asking for water and being denied in flight? I'm pretty sure Ryanair is just threatening this as a means of free press. They were also the ones who proposed stand-up seating, for instance.

as far as standup seating goes, if it's cheaper, and a short (say 30-45 min) flight, I would totally do it.

as it is today I live 5 miles from school and I stand on the bus for 30 minutes.

I would certainly stand on a short flight if I could pay less.

Proposed? You bettcha they will go through with this plan. For O'Leary this is not just a publicity stunt. You will see stand-up seats!

I see frequent fliers buying the 'little john' from Sporty's. Add the 'lady j' adapter for the females.

right. I'm the root of the problem.

I apologize if I think standing for 30 minutes is no big deal since I do it 2 ways everyday paying the same as those who sit on the bus.

Don't kid yourself if you think people in airtravel are in it for luxury. People go for the cheapest possible ticket on the cheapest possible airline and want results. You get what you pay for. The people in it for luxury are in business/first class (and private/corporate).

I hate that I have to pay the same to ride a bus as some fat lazy chump sitting down. If airlines can counter this with standing room being cheaper, go them. seriously.

stop acting like the airlines are big and bad for wanting profit. if people want to pay less for standing, let the markets decide.

I too blame the consumer to some extent. Look at the number of people who flock to Walmart to save a few bucks over the mom and pop store. Further fueling the made in china problem which then further fuels lower wages and then that FURTHER makes people have to shop at Walmart.....rinse and repeat. End result; broken economy, broken airlines, and broken just about every institution.
