Let me guess... you are new to the industry, and have never heard of pattern bargaining.

Sit back... interesting perspective. So what do you propose we do there professor Hawking.. should we go to management and ask to open section 6 early... AND in a down economy?
From an historical perspective though, I think the UAL pilots were pretty happy when we signed C2K since they referred to a spot on their payscales as "the Delta dot". You are just a hater because you are stuck somewhere you don't want to be. Naaaah all I see from you is pure misdirected rage. Have a wonderful day.

Personally though, I couldn't care less whether you like us or not. But I am pulling for you to hit one out of the park with your next contract, just like you should pulling for us to do the same. I really hope that the AA pilots get everything they are asking for and then some.. and when it's our turn in the box, I am sure they will be wanting us to hit a grand slam. That is what pattern bargaining is all about.
And I am very happy for you that you are happy with your life.. I really am.

KOLSHAK?? Please!
Kolshak isn't in a position to trade ANYTHING for ANYTHING! The A350's and B787's are coming! Period!. The Question is.. Do we wait for our 787 slots or try and move up to take cancelled orders that other airlines had deposits on where United can get a HUGE discount on taking delivery of them?? Will Delta cancel the Northwest 787 order so we can get those airplanes?? Which manufacturer (Boeing or Airbus) is going to install the PW1000G engines on their airplane?? Will the A321 get longer legs to replace the 757?? Or will we get deep into the 737 family to have commonality with CAL?? (especially since the Last set of Rumors was debunked about the 3 way merger. That was a hoot)
Kolshak REPORTS to John Tague and Pete McDonald is the Admin Boss
There won't be any "Trade Deals" unless they come down from on "HIGH"
That stuff might have worked at DELTA, But he's not AT DELTA anymore. I've Witnessed some of the "Delta'isms" with Joe, Tim Canavan And Don Dillman. I'm NOT IMPRESSED !! They'd better figure out the "Flavor We Savor here at United".. Or they'll be on the IGNORE list as well..

At United for example, a "Pilot" would have struck for 30 days to prevent a B scale. He would have taken a 24% pay cut to buy an airline, only to watch his investment be wiped out. He received a contract in 2000 which essentially covered inflation since his last full pay check 6 years earlier. He watched his airline go bankrupt, lose almost 48% of his pay, his pension (thx for the support mr. woerth), and countless other facets of his contract. Would this make me a hater because i'm stuck at a carrier where I wouldn't want to be? Nope. You have no idea how your career is going to turn out until the day you retire.
Now, let me throw some other facts out. At United during the same time, he witnessed a major US international carrier pilot group take a pay cut in an attempt to put a nail in the United coffin. He witnessed some pilot groups initiate a letter writing campaign to prevent United from getting an ATSB loan guarantee. How many rEAL pilots did Delta interview after Eastern's demise? Those, and many other instances might not light a flame under my heart.
Believe it or not, we are all linked together in some fashion. You might say too bad for AMR, United, or USAirways, but if these carriers survive, and they will, they will be a weight on you! Your management will say we can't compete with the likes of United who outsources their International flying and we need some relief. So instead of rolling up the carpet on other pilot groups, thinking how much they envy you, it might be time for all to take a closer look at what is happening around us.

When a pilot has spent almost 3 decades at an airline they most certainly have witnessed quite a lot.

I really don't want to get into this. I have no ill will towards any of you guys. Too bad you cannot say the same. You conveniently blame the DAL pilots in the same breath as DAL management for everything from the demise of Eastern to the Lindbergh baby. Sorry I'm not biting on that one. Oh, but one last thing. I lost 46% of my pay and my pension too, so in that respect, we are on the same page.
