I was hired at US Airways at 25 years old. Furloughed at 28.
Now i'm almost 37, i'm working at a corporate flight department where I'm happy but weary of what the future holds. Thought I had the brass ring at 25. Life happens. I'm always on the look out for my next job.

these numbers Are interesting, but nobody is talking about how much
legacy carriers are planning to downsize or how taxes are going up next year
which will stunt the economy (again) or how even a small terrorist attack
could put us in another spiral...... just sayin

Yawn. What else is new? It's easier to plan for advancement based on retirements as opposed to lack there of based on unpredictable acts of god, terrorism, etc.

Not for those of us a year or two away from hireable time. I don't think there will be a shortage but we will see some serious movement.
