Latest & Greatest? Get Real!!!
How can a company, so soon after teetering on the brink of cashing it in, come up with the money to buy Northwest? Their management has royally ____ed many of the workers who have made them who they are in the air transport business, yet this thread continues. I am not tossing out flame bait. For years this company was looked upon as a "Blue Chip" in the airline industry. In Japan loyalty is a quality that is honored. It was once also at D____. I don't see how their management thinks they will be the same in 10 or 20 years when they abandon and break their word to the employees that keep the customer coming back. Back when I was trying to get hired I would have been thrilled beyond imagination to be hired by D. I'm glad I don't work there.

2. Delta didn't "buy" Northwest. It was a stock swap (non-cash) transaction, and a merger in every sense of the word.
3. If you think Delta will look the same in 20 years as it does today, then you will be looking at a failed business.

I really hope you're not a disgruntled DCI pilot. Break free from those stereotypes! And if you're not, and you truly don't want to work for Delta, why do you care if they are a terrible airline with a pathetic business plan? Shouldn't that make you happy that whoever you work for won't have to compete (or rely on them for contract feed) for long? Cheer up! Looks like you're in a can't lose situation.

slowplay, as I said in my initial post I woul have been thrilled to be hired by D. Back then it was an honorable, outstanding company. Seeing how D management is treating their pilots I agree with your point 1. If you truly believe it is a "merger" as you state in your point 2, you are in denial of reality. As to your point 3, if D continues to treat its employees as they have their pilots, I truly believe that the "Latest & Greatest" may very well go the way of other legacy carriers over the next 10 or 20. Time will tell.
