WSJ article...

"Yet since 2003 commuter airlines have had a serious-accident rate per 100,000 departures 10 times that of major airlines, according to government and industry data, not to mention scores of unpublicized close calls."

The fact is that in the last 7 years all US fatalities have been in regional aircraft. The same part of the airline business that has grown so fast that Mesa, Republic, Colgan, ... were hiring 500 hr pilots.

RAH has never had a death related to an accident, so watch what you say and who you lump into groups.

Strange, but I find myself in agreement with you. Unfair to put this on RAH.

I wouldn't get too smug there junior. Any company can have a bad day. It's just much more likely at a regional outfit.

So was there a "Dude ! We landed on a taxiway ! " or a "Dude ! We're going off the end " or maybe a "Dude ! We scraped a wingtip !" or maybe even a "Dude ! We're gonna hit that car and kill a kid !" ? Looks like that "filter" bypass light is on.

Even though I think your posts are very "deusch like," that was funny.

Well this thread has sunk to an all time low, which is unfortunate, I enjoyed reading the opinions of the masses.

Please note the follow TOS excerpt:

"Please use the "good neighbor" policy when posting to this site. If you wouldn't say it to your neighbor face to face, than don't say it here (and we are talking about a hypothetical neighbor that you like and respect....)"

This a professional airline pilot forum. Please post accordingly if you want the thread to stay open.

Fair enough. I am in the left seat and a rather junior Captain. Since the the Republic deal went through I have flown with approximately 40 different First Officers. I would not say any of us are thrilled about the way things are playing out, but I don't think your assessment is right.
