Republic Seniority

I've been arguing that with people since day one...nobody seemed to want to listen.

And you made the decision to work for financially unstable companies and earned unemployment. Both should have been left to die on the vine.So now you think you're a mighty "mainline" pilot and RAH pilots are unworthy ? Dream on.Yes,it will be a US/AW mess no doubt ! BB/WH are well on their way to killing the culture,no question about it.But if you think because you fly an Airbus or 717 you're entitled to some type of "super seniority",you're sadly mistaken. You'll be working for RAH-not the other way around. You're the one that should have to interview.Maybe you should resign now.
As for being left to die on the vine, Bedford recently said that his branded flying was making money.
I say this with the utmost sincerity, really, it will be a pleasure working with you.

It amazes me how the Republic pilots keep missing the point that Midwest and Republic merged. They keep saying they, the Republic pilots, saved Frontier from SWA and Midwest from AirTran.
You guys had zero to do it.
Republic was going to start furloughing hundreds of pilots without Frontier and Midwest. Be thankful and stop trying to screw another pilot out of a job.

Who is the successor ? There is only one,so get it right !
All was sweetness and light at good ol' YX,wasn't it ? Taking over the world...Wildly profitable, skyrocketing growth, hmmm ?
No RAH pilot says any such thing.RAH was not about to furlough "hundreds"-the "petting zoo" in PIT had been there awhile. One thing is for sure, this is a train wreck in progress. The F9 pilots actually signed a LOA from BB/WH/RH ! Very niave on their part ! Yes,they are out to screw you ! That is a fact.BB didn't hire RH except to be rid of pesky union contracts.I honestly wish it wasn't so,as it is detrimental to us all.The "divide and conquer" strategy is working very well, just read this thread ! F9 pilots would have most certainly been better off at WN.BB/WH see no value in a "great corporate culture".As has been said about another airline's mgt. "They know the cost of everything and the value of nothing".So keep up the infighting, you're playing right into their hands.

Republic Airways will buy Midwest Airlines

"republic airlines buys frontier"
An Indianapolis-based airline said Tuesday that it will buy Midwest Airlines, a day after announcing plans to buy bankrupt Frontier Airlines.
Milwaukee-based Midwest has a hub at Kansas City International Airport, and Denver-based Frontier flew about 10 flights out of KCI before it filed for bankruptcy in April 2008.
Midwest had a 6.4 percent market share at KCI in April — the most recent month for which the Kansas City Aviation Department has data — and Frontier had a 3.1 percent market share. Frontier occupies two gates in KCI’s Terminal C, and Midwest occupies three gates in Terminal A.
Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: RJET) will buy all the equity in Midwest from TPG Capital, a Fort Worth, Texas, private equity firm.
Republic also will buy TPG’s $31 million secured note from Midwest. Consideration will be $6 million in cash and a $25 million, five-year note, which may be converted to Republic stock at $10 a share. In addition, TPG will have the right to nominate a member to the Republic board.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in four to six weeks.
“The question is (about) the intention of Republic and what they plan to do if they end up owning both these carriers,” Justin Meyer, manager of air service development for the Kansas City Aviation Department, said in a Wednesday interview. “This is (Republic’s) first foray into operations on this scale, where they actually own the airline. I would assume Republic will continue doing what Midwest and Frontier have been doing, but it could make sense at some point to make changes for economy of scale.”
Republic uses an airplane model that’s “the right size plane for this market,” Meyer said.
“This is really a bold move by Republic,” he said. “Everybody’s saying it’s a buyer’s market right now.”
Republic operates Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America. Those airlines offer scheduled passenger service on about 1,200 flights daily to 101 cities in 37 states, Canada and Mexico through airline services agreements with seven U.S. airlines, including Midwest.
Midwest will become a wholly owned subsidiary and will continue to operate as a branded carrier.
Rick Schifter, a partner with TPG Capital, said the transaction secures a more certain future for Midwest.
“At the time we acquired Midwest, we envisioned that it would ultimately become part of a larger airline and network, as the ability to operate as a small, independent carrier is increasingly challenging in this economic environment,” he said.
On Monday, Republic said it reached an investment agreement with bankrupt Frontier Airlines that will result in Frontier becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Republic for a price of $108.75 million.
Republic has been one of three companies financing Frontier’s emergence from bankruptcy. Republic Airlines also is one of Frontier’s major unsecured creditors, having filed a $260 million damage claim for Frontier’s breaking an agreement with Republic to operate regional jet service after Frontier filed for bankruptcy protection.
