Amen Flex...furloughs are probable even at UPS which made 750 million in PROFIT last quarter and declared that they have more money than they know what to do with. Just shows that financial health isn't the only indicator in conjunction with a furlough, but corporate greed is.

Allegiant hiring for their PIE base in the near term?

Except that since you donīt have a CONRACT they can change any of these parameters at any time. And what are YOU going to do about it?

Nothing, thatīs what.

OR, we could have a contract whereby they could still change the parameters at any time and tell us to grieve it. Then they could never address these these grievances but tell us at the next contract negotiation that they will not sign a TA unless we set aside all the grievances. Then what do we have?

A magazine, that's what.

This is one of the most ridiculous things that I have read here recently. While the grievance process and unions may not be perfect, at least get your facts right with a basic understanding of how the process actually works.

Never mind, Eagle. You can never convince these guys. Until, of course, they get in trouble with either the Company, the FAA or lose their medical. Then, when they have no where else to turn, they change their tune.

By then its too late.

So true, unions are money grubbing institutions that use propaganda to have their members believe they need them. When you have a grievance the company can sit on it and drag their feet, even if there is a union or no union. The only diffierence is the 1 or 2% coming out of your pocket every year for a false sense of security.

It should be no surprise that unions only make up about 15% of the U.S. workforce. Corruption, lack of negotiating and no real representation are the reasons most U.S. workers have said no to unions in recent decades.

Does Allegiant make you resign your seniority number if you're a furlough? What's their feeling about hiring furloughed guys in general?

I second the second part of Cardinal's question. Have they hired furloughs recently? Don't really care about the seniority # though. Allegiant is a better gig than waiting on a call from my former airline.

Many Midwest and TWA hired here. I have never heard of resigning the seniority number. A few USAir here too.
