DAL buddy pass policy
Question: Can a buddy pass rider be routed ATL-JFK/LGA-ATL on one round-trip pass? Or does it have to be ATL-JFK-ATL only? (For the return flight, JFK-ATL looks too full...thats why I'm asking). I don't want to get in any trouble for doing a 'non-approved' routing! Thanks.

I've booked a buddy pass DUB-ATL-DUB, and then had it changed so I actually flew DUB-ATL, DUB-ATL on one pass. I just called the reservations number I think. Delta is always very accommodating. Between that and the people, they have my loyalty forever. I'm probably the only Silver Medallion pilot (okay regional pilot) in the world. I refuse to fly anyone else unless it's to or from work.

It is not big deal. It just needs to start and end in the same city, most of the time.

You are correct...even if it doesn't though, all they do is charge you (or the people traveling on the pass I should say) a change fee which is not that bad. Just call the reservation number and they are pretty good about changing stuff. I have never had a problem when making changes for my buddy pass riders.

Fee for Buddy Pass riders on the 800 line? Never heard of such a thing. Unfortunately my Mom calls them after she leaves me a message and waits 2/100th of a second for me to call her back. She can use the computer fine, but with her six dozen IM, 7 free virus protection products and Photo apps she gets impatient waiting for Windows to boot.
... and in anticipation of that fee taking half of my pre-tax income ...
Anyone know when DAL S family members will be able to travel on the other half of f-NWA? Mom needs to get to a place only Pinnacle goes, which is a PNCL connection through MEM.

Total switchover is planned on or near March 2010 with the summer sked.

Save the change fee and to it on Travelnet. I do it all of the time for my buddy pass riders. I watch the loads and if it gets ugly, off they go another route. It takes less than five minutes and as long as they end up in the same place I never get charged more. (After initial ticketing)
Good advice man! I did not know that...for some reason I was under the impression you had to call to change it...I'll be doing it on travelnet from here on out.
