Default PIC turboprop for Cal?

What do people think the chances are of getting hired by CAL with 2000 hrs PIC BE-1900 and no jet time?

I think you have as good a shot as anyone else does.

I just had an Ex-Colgan pilot (Saab 340) pilot in my jumpseat. They were hired by CAL into the 757. Young too.

I flew a jet for Continental Express for nearly 10 years (4000 jet PIC) and haven't gotten an interview since leaving a year ago. Good Luck.

Yes, you do have to have the credentials, however, timing IS everything

The Colgan pilot was a cute female. That must be your problem.

I only made it because I was on "Schindler's list".

If you still want CAL, keep trying. I don't know if recommendations help or someone in IAH walking it into the office?

The key is getting an internal recommendation. All of us who interviewed in June had at least 1 internal recommendation. Additionally, whoever writes your recommendation really needs to walk your resume into the chief pilots office as well and talk you up. Your times are competitive, I had significantly less than that and got lucky. Good luck to you!
