Default Does the new Delta LGA hub = Delta rj hub

When Delta makes LGA a hub, will it bring more mainline flying to LGA or will their just be a sea of rj's in Delta colors parked at the gate?

As per route management- no.

I'm sure you'll see some of the slots go to RJ's, which is obvious. Apparently Comair will primarily be relocated to CVG while shuttle america will end up doing a lot of the new york RJ flying.
However, they said the maddog guys are going to be running all over the place up there.

There are a ton of routes that Piedmont and Air Wisconsin did that would be too small for a MD88 or E170. LGA-SCE, LGA-ITH, places like that. I'm guessing Comair and Pinnacle will fill the gaps on those.

Returned from CQ recently. According to the fleet captain, it's going to be mostly mainline, and no 50-seaters. They feel the market is there.

The initial plan from marketing is for about 30 to 35 additional mainline flights per day out of LGA. A few of those flights will be mainline flights shifted from JFK to reduce flights there with the planned shutdown of the largest runway all summer long. There is also talk of some type of ground shuttle to connect passengers from LGA to JFK but that has not yet been decided. There will also be a large increase in RJ flying. There are to many very small markets that have to be served.
