Pilots pay highlighted in new Moore film

And what will that change when the public knows what some of us make? Is it somehow going to change our negotiators minds when they go to the table? Is it going to change the regional pilots who all vote yes on POS contracts? Will it stop the Freedoms or Gojets? We don't even hold them accountable. How about what's going on with Midwest?

I understand your rightfully jaded skepticism but if it is discussed in the open public forum, it educates the public and who in return may pressure politicians to do something about it. What's the alternative? Are you saying it should not even be discussed openly?
Why would the public put pressure on politicians about pilot pay? All of my friends and family know what I made when I started out or changed jobs and those closest to me didn't do anything. Why would the general public?

Point being, we will not hear ALPA saying much about the low pilot wages at the Regionals. Look at the recent example of Pinnacle's failed TA to understand that it isn't the pilots that are failing.
ALPA's very culpable in this failure to achieve a living wage performing mainline replacement flying at outsourced airlines. As long as our union endorses selling out one pilot to benefit another pilot (requiring that they also be against unity to make this distinction possible) the results of our bargaining across the board are going to be less than what we could achieve as a unified, union.

There's a documentary about that actually. How Moore accuses people of not hiring enough minorities and how they live lavish lives then they followed him to the Ritz. Moore is a millionaire several times over how else do you think he funds his own films.

Well, not to put to blunt a point on it..... but most people pick a profession doing something they enjoy doing.... they just won't accept the job for poverty wages.... the end result; wages stay high. Most MD's I know love their job as much as you love yours.... they just won't work for free like you will. They'd go do something else before accepting a job that doesn't pay. That goes for a number of other professions as well...

Maybe........
If we were paid more management could tell people that their fares went up by 3 dollars so the crew could make what they were worth. People would understand because of messages like Moore is putting out (and ALPA doesn't).
Of course that is assuming that management would take that 3 dollars and actually put it back into our pockets instead of sliding them into theirs.
