Default UAL Re-Assignment Question

I'm looking for a UAL contract ruling.

We are in Singapore delayed due to a mechanical. It looks like it will be least an extra day, probably two. This may be a while, flight attendants are already deadheading out and MM discussing possibility of a ferry flight.

Th crew desk says they have to get us home within 60 hours of scheduled arrival. I can't find anything in the contract regarding international re-assignment to confirm or refute that.

Can anyone confirm this?

Greg

I scoured the on line contract already. Looked at hours of service and scheduling. I did find a provision that says any mechanical delay requires return home within 24 hours of schedule but I think that may be for domestic only.

It's gotta be in there. I'm just missing it. Next, I'll check side letters. Thanks, though.

I already posted something on Boyle's but I wasn't sure if it is operational yet.

Cool

I could be wrong on this, but if you are being kept there to protect the equipment, then it might not be a reassignment.

What does that mean "protect the equipment"?

Physically protect it? We are at a regular station with CS and MM available. We were informed of the delay before we even left the airport.

22-I-1 on page 271. Cannot cut and paste because I am looking at the paper version, and the computer version is still side letters. Basically it says they have to get you back within 60 hours of scheduled arrival. Go play some golf.
