The only thing regional about it, is Republic's pay.

I find it interesting that both of these "airlines" carry the name of long dead failures in the industry. Combining them may send them both back to the used airline bin. Would someone plz define "major" airline for me, neither of these seem to fit what I would consider major. Upstart and commuter seem more correct.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Not sure about Frontier, but I think Republic may be a "Major Airline" by definition. Something to do with total annual revenue I think.

US designation for a major is: an air carrier with an annual operating revenue of more than... ONE, BILLION, DOLLARS, MUHAHAHA! (with pinky finger at mouth).

I beleive RAH is hovering around 1.3B pre merger...

My unofficial designation of a major is an airline where you can support an entire family on your airline salary alone as a first officer. This includes owning a house, two cars, and the basics of the American dream. You could do that at Midwest and Frontier. You cannot do that at Republic.

If you were to go through the ENTIRE seniority list, you'd find people that are well qualified, and people as I've outlined above.

My private-comm instructor is a CA there, his first type rating/turbine PIC was on the 737. As an example.
That is correct. There are several who are now captains that were hired with pretty low time and no PIC. They have hired people without PIC. I had around 3200TT when I was hired there. I am talking about the current qualifications of the current pilots on the list because those are the numbers that matter.

A billion dollars isn't what it used to be. Really is does seem a little low.

I have no idea what your compensation package is worth. The house would be at least the median price for the crew base? One car paid for and one with payments both purchased new.

How about Replacement Job, that would be descriptive. Pilots always talk about taking it back, well Republic pilots, here is your opportunity. Accept nothing less than Jet Blue Embrear rates during this round of negotiations with bb. He obviously wants to line his pockets and find a home for your "rj"s". Bringing your rates to a livable level will decrease his whipsaw ability between you and the "unlimited scope" he desires from F9. The playbook of history is easily accessible; now is the time to write a new chapter.
