Yeah it is just a co-inkie-dink that all they lefties and college lunies moved from the commie party to the green party after the demise of communism.
The house actions Friday night were hardly the actions of Altruists.

What really makes me angry is the fact that the earth has been cooling for the last 11 years (1998)!
If we have Global Warming, why can't I sail a wooden boat around Greenland like the Vikings did in the 14th century, ice free?
Why can't I grow wheat in Greenland like the Vikings did in the 14th century?
Tell you what, when wheat can be grown again in Greenland and we can sail around Greenland in a normal boat (Not an Icebreaker), I will believe everything is back to normal.
Meanwhile, hunker down boys for another hammering of our fossil fuel industry.
Who suggested "Solar Powered" jet aircraft? Yea, that's the ticket!

That is what liberals call "discussion". If you disagree, it is hate speach.
We just want to talk about how irrational this bill is.
This economy ain't doing too good right now. This bill is the last thing the airline industry, or any industry (you know, those "thingeses" that employ people?) needs right now.
This is a massive tax. Period. No country ever taxed thenselves in to prosperity!
This is not good, any way you look at it.

And dude I believe: "that climate change is junk science and a liberal plot to increase your taxes."

Dude I didn't inject politics and I could care less about your politics. But if you don't see Friday nights actions as a power grab instead of a healthy debate you have your head in the sand.

Wow. You make a lot of assumptions. Dude. First, my comments were directed at the science of climate change. Not this bill in particular. The merits of this bill deserve and demand the full scrutiny of the appropriate legislative bodies. Anything less is a disservice all of us. And with your comments about the "lefties and college whatever derogatory term you used migrating toward the green party after communisim fell", yeah , you really did throw a little politics into it. And I certainly appreciate your acerbic retort on my vernacular.
1. Commies start "Green" Party.
2. Friday Nights power Grab.
I will now make an assumption about you. You think anyone who agrees with you is wise, non-political and altruistic and anyone who disagrees with you is politically motivated.

May I suggest that you outline the effect on global warming this bill will have and present us with a reasonable cost/benefit estimate?
Once you can do that it is reasonable for people to think it is something other than a sop to special interests and something other than a power grab.
Until then....

The link below is for anybody who may be interested in reading the 2007 Summary Report prepared by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
The report is based on the work of some 2,500 scientists in more than 130 countries.
Whether you believe in "global warming" or you don't believe in "global warming" I think it is important to educate ourselves on the issue by familiarizing ourselves with the science behind the claims. Both for and against.
This is a comprehensive report and only the link to the summary. There is a larger more detailed report available on the IPCC web site. Please post any links to other comprehensive, science based reports that may have differing conclusions. I look forward to reading them.
