atpcliff,
Did you get any more details about the MD-8x positions in Africa? There are a variety of companies operating the type on the continent, some a lot better than others.
Incidentally, do you have any idea what a type rating for the MD-80 costs in the States now? Thank you.

Type Rating
Higher Power does the MD80 type rating. It is less than 10,000, but I don't remember how much less. I looked in to it about a year and a half ago. I think it was about 1500 more than the 737 classic type.

Falcon is no upstart they have been around for a while... they used to fly 727-200's based in MIA... A lot of guys from Planet Airways went there after their fall... its a shame that you have to go from one bottom feeder to another... that being said I have heard all the same... very crappy airline looking to rob and steal from customers and employee's.

As horrible as your story is and your characters are, there is no shortage of similar stories at different airlines. Champion Air was one of these "winner" outfits. Hopefully you are in greener pastures now.
Cheers

It is important for the whole industry to know that unlike Vision, and Miami Air's management, Falcon's management has been known to say that If a Union comes on the property, they will shut it down. People at Falcon, now is the time to ask for Union representation. There are currently several illegal dismissal/firing lawsuits against Falcon Air in Federal Court. They have lost and continue to loose key management personnel, Pilots are fired or laid off because they refuse a broke aircraft, mechanics are pressured to fix it by PENCIL, not PARTS, or be fired. I can only urge the Pilots, Mechanics, Flight Attendants, and Dispatchers to seek Union representation. Furthermore, others in the industry should call the FAA hot line to report any, and all suspected violations. Falcon MANAGEMENT needs to PUT OUT OF BUSINESS. THEY WERE RUN OUT OF VENEZUELA, THEY SHOULD BE RUN OUT OF SOUTH FLORIDA, AND OUT OF THE INDUSTRY. Tax payers money is supporting these people by continuing to renew ICE contracts out of Mesa, Arizona, and San Antonio, Texas
