I just think it is funny that these moderators are so proud of their ability to censor what other people want to say! ( My only point ) Not trying to rass the rest of the nondweeebs! Dweeb! ( term of endearment )

Next they will be burning books at the local school!

I have not checked out flight-info to see how bad that is.... Now I have to go look and see! Dam computers!

OK I will lighten up!

Yeah! You would read it!

I get a kick out of the people that think this is not an entertainment forum!

Have you actually read the forum terms of service? Our goal is to provide a productive and professional forum to working pilots. The TOS gives us latitude to remove personal attacks, off color language, etc.

If all users observed the TOS when they posted, the mods wouldn't have anything to do. Think of it as one of the many businesses that post signs to the effect of "we reserve the right to refuse service.....". APC is a private message board with a published user agreement, when users choose to disregard that agreement, we reserve the the right to remove posts.

We're always open to suggestion, if you have a better way to maintain the resource as a productive and professional venue we'd love to hear from you.

Cheers!

No...

I guess I just like a little more passion in the forums. I will admit I do get some information from these posts. I also read them for the entertainment value!

Really not on here that much... Just enough to see it evolve over time!

I hear ya, we've seen a lot of recurring themes during the last year and everyone is on edge (furloughs and reduction of service will do that).

All I wanted to do with the original post was to point out something nice and positive in this current economic climate of furloughs, bankruptcies, foreclosures and unemployment. This past year has been very difficult for everyone, and we haven't hit bottom yet. So when a nice gesture, from an airline no less comes up, I feel compelled to post it. If we don't find the good things about life, I can assure you it will not come to you voluntarily.

Being a moderator is unpaid, a lot of work and oftentimes thankless. As the only female moderator, my goal is to make this a kinder, gentler place. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the testosterone-filled Alpha male Type A personality old fighter pilot mentality, but that can only take you so far in life. And I think there is more to life than that.

I do not consider the forums as a place of entertainment. If only I could show you some of the hundreds of PMs I have received asking for help or with a thorny legal question, you too will have to agree that we are better off helping each other instead of fighting each other.

Back to the topic. Reading this reaffirms that Alaska Airlines is more about image than substance. Sure, they did right by a bunch of H.S. students. Too bad they don't feel the same about their employees.

What are you talking about. They do lots of nice things for their employees. I'm getting a free vacation starting October 1st. What other company would do that for their employees.....what?....It's not a vacation? Screwed again!
