Look, I'm a former AF type with time in everything from the F-16 to the U-2. Unless your CV contains anything close, I win the biggest D!ck war. I've seen more than you can imagine......a rag head under the pipper and a sunrise above 75000.

And, that wasn't my point. Should a UA furloughed pilot get the left seAt at xyz, you bet. You know it because if you are an rj pilot, the job only exists but for the stupidity of folks in charge here when you were in high school.

Not a slam on you. Stating the same facts I stated as an ALPA volunteer before giving up on the paradigm changing.

The only way that Gojet pilots can ever be called scabs, is if the following happens:

TSA pilots strike, Gojet replaces their flying.

Now that we got that out of the way, the other statement was "take the higher moral ground". Why? Most people have had nothing to do with the Gojet/TSA fiasco. Most people are out there to earn a living. Going to Gojet or not does not make one bit of difference. I mean even mainline United pilots are taking the seats. What more can you say? If you're going to say take the moral high ground, how about the Republic pilots that are stumbling over themselves to bid the Midwest Airlines LAX ERJ190 overnights? Should they quit or be called scabs?

Good point(s).

Judging by your screen-name I take it your at FedEx? Good on you....put UAL in your rearview mirror, forever.

After 9/15, I'll probably do the same.

Frats.

Actually, it's not truly accurate.

Yes, it was a 16-year contract, but still "amendable" every 4 years (just like most contracts). Every 4 years the parties would negotiate changes and anything not agreed to was submitted to arbitration (maximum of 5 items, so each side had to be careful). Pay was one of those things and indexed to the rest of the regional carriers with a minimum 1.5% raise or more depending on what OTHER regionals improvements were (which were basically little).

Here we are 12 years later and our pay is about where most others are as no one has really raised the bar that much, so Eagle's "crappy" contract wasn't that crappy in and of itself, it only failed to take a major lead among other regionals, virtually all of which haven't generated a major improvement in regional compensation.

I'm hearing the Pinnacle TA will be another disappointment in a long list of disappointments in the regional industry.

Our contract does contain a "no strike" clause (now moot), but TSA pilots (among others) have been waiting years to strike and still can't, so that option (12 years later) hasn't provided much. Comair used this option and look what that got them. In 2013, this 16 year agreement ends and we'll be in the same boat as most of the other regionals who've failed to truly "raise the bar" in that 12 years, so again, I see little to say our contract was worse then what others have produced in that 12 years. It certainly is no better either.

The whipsaw will return here as AMR will not want a repeat of the Comair situation. Whipsawing has been very successful with managements and will be here to stay I'm afraid. The topped out 90K captain and 45K F/O flying the 76-90 seaters is a good financial move in the eyes of managements, both major and regional alike and so far, nothing has altered their course to make maximum profit off the backs of squabbling pilots.

I see little chance of change there either.

For someone who works at GoJet: Is GoJet still having classes for the rest of the year? On APC it says 8 more aircraft, is that still up to date?

i think that is a pretty close estimate-- i think maybe 2-4 more classes depending on delivery schedule etc.

unemployment isnt all that bad, and college football (and pro) is here so you got reimbursed health insurance for a year--- enjoy some quality time off, buy and sell soem stuff on ebay/craigslist for extra untaxable income and make your own schedule

Skippy,

You win!!!!!

Now, it's an FLHX.....

I only wish I'd jumped to FDX. Kind of like when I went with UAL versus SW.....at the time I thought it was the best choice.

If ya'll want to know the stocks I pick so you can stay away from them...let me know.

Hope it is filling the mailbox with a check.

Good luck to you.
