Can't until you post 10 times (I think).
Go to amtrak.com, then employment page, external applicants. Look for Engineer positions, and it will tell you which forms to fill out, and who to send it to. Post more and PM me.

Is the starting pay really $19.95/hour? How much time can you expect per week/month? Is it 40 hours a week type a gig?

Thanks for sharing all this info.

Yes, until July 1, then it goes to $20.85 hr. Guarantee 40 hour week, but usually ends up being more hours with OT on the job. Right now I am in training so we also get $25 per diem per day (except Sat/Sun 'cause I go home). Comes out to $923.00/week, then take out taxes. They put us up in a nice condo/apt. It beats unemployment insurance, which was going to run out soon for me.

Hey Short Bus Drive

Thanks for posting this info. I am furloughed as well and this sounds like a good opportunity. Based on reading Amtrak's website it sounds like you have to mail an application in. Is that correct or can you apply online? Thanks again

Go to the UAL ALPA site, click on the Furlough tab, and follow the directions.

Also, we were told that we had a legal leg to stand on in the battle that was to be fought afterwards... No one knew that having a "separate website" would be enough to qualify gojets as a "separate" company despite being owned and run by the same person. At the time we thought our scope language would protect us from what management did.

(Had we known the out come of THAT at the time, we'd have done what it took to secure it and would likely STILL be negotiating a new contract)

So does anyone know where UA stands now regarding furloughs? Are they still in the process or have they already furloughed the 874 that APC shows?

Just curious what is the DOH for the senior furloughee?

I was a 3/20/00 hire and did not go back when I had my final recall about 2 years ago.

Sad to see the Guppy getting retired.

Good luck to all.
