Default Turbo prop PIC time now or CRJ PIC time in 3 years

Should I stay and get the quick B1900 upgrade, or make a lateral move to a CRJ and upgrade in 3 years? I know PIC time is extreamly important, but does it really matter if its in a T-prop versus a jet?

I'd stay and get the PIC and then if it isn't getting you anywhere leave.

It's a no brainer, IMHO. Upgrade unless you want to be at a commuter for the rest of your foreseeable future.

Stay - take the sure thing and upgrade as soon as possible. Get as much pic time as soon as you can. That CRJ upgrade in 3 years can easily change and leave you hanging.

In the three years it will take you to upgrade on the CRJ you will have at least 2500 turbine PIC on the Beech.

You are asking this question why?

Hmm you can't go straight to Captain position for the CRJ? I think pic time is pic time but it would be better if you had jet experience. It might be difficult to get a job with just tprop pic, think of the thousands of guys with jetpic time waiting in line for the majors.

It is better to get an egg today than a chicken tomorrow.

Definetly stay. All the above comments are correct.

I am with the other guys. Upgrade on the 1900 - easy decision!

Yes, and half or more don't even apply anywhere because they are either too picky or lazy as all hell. Then they all ***** about it when someone else gets a job with a little less time than them. Turbine PIC is Turbine PIC. Once you hit 4000 TT and 1200-1500 PIC turbine, it's about who you know and who's a$$ you kiss....not jet vs. prop.
