I was deadheading on a 767 to Newark yesterday and we hit a quick and unexpected burst of turbulence. Unbelted passengers sitting next to me went airborne. It was awesome. Nobody got hurt, but it sure did scare everyone.

I supppose I would get tired of it as a FA, but I can't believe how many let people just cruise around the cabin with the seat belt light on. I suppose someone will sue the airline since they didn't force them to stay in their seats...

This highlights the need for crews to protect their ASSets with regards to that seatbelt sign. Read the enroute Wx and ask center for ride reports before turning the sign off...if someone gets hurt, that will be your best defense in a lawsuit.
I'm kind of paranoid about hurting my neck...I keep one hand on the bins while moving about the cabin and one hand on the ceiling in the lav. CAT may not provide any warning.

It sounds like if you ask flydl or JP you deserve whatever happens to you. Everybody here seems to be quick to pass this poor person off as an idiot.
The captain could have had the sign on the whole flight and this person finally decided that she couldn't wait any longer. I've seen a good share of captains that we'll leave the sign on the whole flight.
