That's a savings of 45% and it is without benefits!
I am sure that there are cost savings, otherwise they wouldn't do this. But, you do realize that crew labor costs are one of the smaller costs of operating an airliner?

That is a cost savings of 45% of the front-end crew costs, the total of which are a small percentage of the overall cost of the operation. For example, if an airplane costs $3000/hr to operate, and you save $104/hr in crew costs, you are actually saving 3.5%. To determine the financial incentives of Delta going with a regional, you have to know all of the numbers to get a clear picture of the financials.

Looks like a code share to me....

Midwest Airlines Extends Codeshare with Northwest Airlines to Include Eight Additional Nonstop Routes from Indianapolis - Midwest Airlines

All I typed in was MKE to TPA. The first are 2 NWA flights via DTW and the second one is Midwest Connect flight (a RAH 170 of course) to ATL then you jump on a DAL 757.

If delta wants to put 99 seats on the A380 then nothing will stop them.

WAIT! They have that Max t/o weight restriction for delta connection carriers. phew! delta pilots are safe

Is Midwest going to be Deltas new "Low Cost" carrier? One aircraft type, new fuel efficient fleet, 76 or 100 seat aircraft, no middle seats, lowest crew costs, Delta code share, ...

Well that sucks. Missed that when I was looking to see what the options were.

Interesting to see what the limitations are on codeshares vs. 'connection' carriers. Codeshares aren't limited by any scope agreements at DAL?

No, it will eventually go out of business, just like ATA, Skybus, Aloha, and other carriers its size. It's a shame, as "back in the day" it offered a superior product, just like Pan Am and TWA once offered a superior product. Oh, btw, there is no Delta code on any Midwest flight, but you know that
