The first part of the code share begins in June....eventually you will be able to use either company's miles, earn miles on either company's flights and certain Midwest flights will also have Delta flight numbers......as well as one seamless ticket between the 2 airlines....how is this not a code share?

1.- Only a merged or accuired company's employees can be added to the SL. Midwest is neither of those two things.
2.- Without the scope change, Delta would have been forced to sell their accuired from NW stake in Midwest. Personally, I feel that would have been in the best interests of the company. Or at least the pilots. It would have closed any scope loopholes. But what effect would that have had on Midwest? Would you have been OK with that decision if it had occured. Or would you have blamed the DL pilots for cutting you adrift? Seems to me, we can't win either way in your eyes.

Are you joking?
Delta was not going to sale Midwest! NWA/Delta bought Midwest to stop AirTran from starting a new base in the upper midwest... Milwaukee. DLs CEO made it clear... we have to stop AirTran.

Honestly, I really don't have the time or energy to go find the DL memo about NW purchase of Midwest, but it said that without the scope relaxation, they would have to divest the NW shares. At the time of NW's purchase, DL management was upset because if Airtran had purchased Midwest, it would have drained their cash and made them vunerable in ATL so DL could exploit the weakness. There was no NW/Delta purchase of Midwest, no matter how revisionist you want to be. It was NW and TPG alone. We really didn't want you, we just got stuck with you through the merger. So tell me, how do you think it would have played out for you if Airtran had bought Midwest?

NWA and Delta were in private talks before buying Midwest.
A nine (9) aircraft fleet vs. merging with AirTran, no you tell me... should Midwest pilots count on support from their ALPA brothers at Delta/NWA?

As far as support, what do you want? If you strike, we won't fly struck work. Or do you want us to negotiate a contract for you. Maybe take up a collection to help reimburse you. Tell me, what do you want us to do for you?

Did you have only 9 airplanes when Airtran made their run? DL and NW may have been talking when it happened, but DL was upset that NW went and did this deal. It muddied the waters.

Thanks for the offers, but we all know Delta ALPA will not do one thing for Midwest ALPA.
ALPA is a service provider.. not a union. That is the reason our profession is under fire and has lost status over the last 20 years.

You still haven't answered the question. What do you want us to do? You post here and keep saying how you got boned by DALPA and DAL, but offer no insights to just what you want. Just where do you think you would be if NW left you to be absorbed by Airtran? I'm curious if you think that fate wouuld have played out better for you.

That post makes me again acknowledge the elephant in the room... What did the Midwest folks do to help out the Skyway folks?
