Half of our pilots came from Skyway, so much so that the training dept. was sick of Skyway guys. What did we do to you? You mean the group that TPG told TH in their first meeting "was gone"? You think Air Tran would have been differently? The % of skyway guys at their mainline counterpart is FAR higher than any other wholly owned relationship.

I didn't know DALPA had anything to do with making corporate transactions, and how anything like the Midwest code share benefited DAL pilots?

It doesn't but he feels we are at fault for not taking them in to the fold.
It is just not possible.

We past that milestone several years ago.

All of us in the industry did. Several years ago. Right about the time the White House, the NMB, and the Airline Executives did a big group hug after 9/11.

Why did the DAPLA agree to change the scope for Midwest? Why does DALPA continue to use scope as a negotiation tool verses a job security section?

It's all about short sighted gains verses building a profession like the AMA has done.

Do you think the Delta/NWA merger would have been stopped by NWAs 47% ownership of Midwest airlines?

Of course not cause now DAL can "code share" with all the 170's they want through the magic of Midwest Airlines gaping backdoor hole that they allowed................

Why was it not possible? Why did the DALPA change scope just for Midwest?

1.- Only a merged or accuired company's employees can be added to the SL. Midwest is neither of those two things.

2.- Without the scope change, Delta would have been forced to sell their accuired from NW stake in Midwest. Personally, I feel that would have been in the best interests of the company. Or at least the pilots. It would have closed any scope loopholes. But what effect would that have had on Midwest? Would you have been OK with that decision if it had occured. Or would you have blamed the DL pilots for cutting you adrift? Seems to me, we can't win either way in your eyes.

Just to be clear, there is NO Delta code on Midwest. Your premise is flat wrong.
