Click on the letter of Obama to Midwest Airlines CEO, it had no effect. A pattern of his administration is beginning to take place. The strategy of Prater, ALPA president, has much to be desired. Prater was quoted as saying he will change his zip code if need be to MKE to protect the Midwest pilots. He claimed such nimble allegiance to many airline that are no longer in operation that were formally part of ALPA, IE: Aloha, America West and many more.

Prater and ALPA National are only interested in the major airlines. This is not a union or an association to better the airline pilot profession. It's

all about ALPA National jobs and our ability to pay dues.

Let's talk about Midwest airlines again.

If we don't wake-up, ALPA national will lead our profession off a similiar cliff! We need to make sure...

--- All contracts have strong scope language.

--- Major airlines need to fly all equipment over 50 seats.

--- We have to stop the whip-sawing of one pilot group against another.

--- We need to push for different levels of ATP licenses (eg. 10,000 hrs flight time to Captain aircraft with over 99 seats, 15,000 hrs to Captain aircraft over 300 seats...) This could equal a national seniority list.

--- ALPA needs canned language in scope, duty reg, vacation, 401k, ... that is required at all ALPA carrriers. No more whip-sawing on life style.

ALPA National needs to lead this profession to a secure future.

whats wrong with you guys and your 50 seat limits? if it has a paint job for a major airline it needs to be flown by that airlines pilots. no more of this regional/subcontractor stuff. If everything that had a major paint job was flown by major pilots I would have a wonderful job with a competitive salary not some joke barely getting by stipen.
