Default Delta 747 ATL-HNL

Flying on this new route in May and wondering who the crews will be...assuming it will be a NWA crew? Or can delta pilots bid the 747 now? Will be weird to see a Delta branded 747 again though, that's for sure!

There are already 3 747-400s in delta colors.

Due to the fences, it will be continue to be flown by former NWA pilots for 5 years after the operating certificate is combined, which is projected to occur Jan 1, 2010.

They look sharp... there are plenty of pictures of them on airliners.net.

But NW employees get First Class if open on Delta flights, while Delta employees sit in coach even if First is open on a NW flight. Typical NW. Abuse the employees whenever possible.

Actually FNWA employees fly behind RD employees on the DAL flights even if this is a FNWA plane and crew.......

That doesn't change the fact that as a NW employee on a Delta bird flies first. To OMA or PVG. While a Delta employee on a Northwest flight has to sit coach, even if First is wide open. This is how NW operates. This was Anderson's/Steenland's approach to employees. If you want First, you must pay. But even if a Delta employee would pay, too bad. Coach for you! This is why Delta employees like there employer more.

While I'll agree the first class (actually business class as we don't have first class) policy sucks, I think it wrong for DAL employees to be able to ride in front of FNWA employees on a FNWA aircraft operated by a FNWA crew. Just because it has a DAL flight number shouldn't put the FNWA employees to the back of the line.

What needs to happen is for management to get it where everyone uses the same pass policy using their DOH.

Agreed. I hope it's Delta's policy. First, if open. No Charge. Now Since the pilots did not do DOH, who knows how that will work out for non rev travel.

Yes, there are some growing pains in this category. The good news is that it is short lived. Before too long all of this will be history. All things taken into consideration with todays airline environment, it really isn't that big of a deal, IMO.
