What if RAH captains flying the Delta 175s and interviewed and didn't pass. What happens to them? Tough luck for them? I don't think so...

I'm all for taking these jets back to mainline but since it was the majors that caused this problem in the 1st place, simply taking the planes back and saying so sorry "regional" pilots, you have to interview and get in line. Well simply put.... F you for being so selfish and not thinking of your regional brothers and sisters! I have to provide for my family too and now I have to be punished by past pilots mistakes of eroding scope.

And for the record, I haven't interviewed at any major yet. I do not feel comftorable moving on with all the crap going on in the world.

I don't know how you ment that comment Nu but just saying my peace.

Off my soapbox.
And that is the reason that it did not happen with EV and OH in 1999.
I have no issue with you keeping your seats, but fences and this like would be determined if there was a merger. It would not be a merger.
DAL owns the flying. We own most of the jets. We can redistribute them as we see fit. That is what happens when you work for an ACMI carrier. (Contract carrier.) I am not trying to be jerk either. This is why I left ASA. It pays to work for the carrier that creates the flying.

Then why are you whining? You work for the carrier that "creates" the flying, yet you sound pretty upset....Why is that?

He hasnt "whined" about this, he has advocated a fix to a problem and there is alot of support behind this. It would be a monumental success for our industry as a whole and your bitterness gets in the way of you seeing it. Why is that?

Many of you junior Delta pilots are whining about this issue....The economy is slowing fast and some of you are looking for RJs to park your butts in.....Sorry that train left the station.....

The ASA and CMR MEC's proposed a "fix" in 2000....but mainline ego's prevented a solution....We now all have to live with those results.....

You are a 28 year old mainline pilot.....You may get furloughed....Deal with it!

You say its "whining" because we are working to fix a screw up from years past. YOU yourself have even admitted that it was a screwup. See the difference is that some of us move on so that we can try and fix things. You just stay where you are and just point fingers at everyone else.

I would rather be a 28 year old Mainline pilot working on a fix than a middle aged Regional pilot who is bitter and worried he may get left in the cold every time a contract comes up for renewal. Dont worry you'll get the memo

It was a screwup....You aren't going to "fix" it....You think you are..but it is too late...

ACL65Pilot has already confirmed that the lawsuit is a factor in these discussions....I am confident that we will survive this...You will too, but you may have a few years off....

You seem to HOPE that we cant fix it and just sit around telling everyone what they can and cant do. Fortunately we dont have to ask for your permission or need your help to pursue this

few years off? Could happen but not likely as of now. Either way i would rather worry about the near term and have positive long term career potential than to have stayed at my old regional and "peaked" there. To each their own. You chose to peak at ASA, deal with it and move on. Good luck in the new plane.

Slowplay, I like the way you think, unfortunately your history is completely wrong. The BAE146, with 105 seats operated under EV code on EV routes supported by EV's own tickets and marketing. When Delta code was put on EV flights it was similar to the codeshare with AirFrance. When the relationship extended to Delta Connection then the 146 sized jets wee grandfathered in. They went away due to operational problems, poor reliability and ASA's job action that wasn't quite a strike. The airplane went away before Delta negotiated its C2K scope that subsequently restricted its replacement.

I am not as familiar with the Mesaba Avro story, but I thought they were always limited to 66, or 76, seats.

I don't think Delta can take it back from ASA and Comair due to ALPA's conflicted representational obligations.

Trust me Joe. I looked at everything and realized that I may have had another 10 or so good years at ASA, but long term DAL was the way to go. You contract that SKW and DAL management signed is very tight. There is only a few places for wiggle room. I am sure that DAL will expose them.

I am not worried, or concerned Joe. It is the issue that you brought up over a decade ago that has tied your hands, our hands and others. It is not that we cannot untie them, it is that they were tied by fellow ALPA pilots in the first place. I know the history so spare me. You guys made it about money from fellow pilots. Management just stood back and laughed while you were doing their job for them. I guess you still do not get it. You may get more jets joe, but they will never pay what they should pay??
What does that 900 pay for a 20 year CA? About the same as a third year 767 FO on a concessionary contract.
There is a fix to this issue, you may actually like it. Time will tell.
