By now he is of course. But he did not when he went back. At least that is what he told me. However by then we had our 5th+ beer, going still strong, so I could have easily misunderstood it. I will call him to verify.

You also have to remember that until you are completely requalified you only recieve training pay. That might have caused the confusion.

I don't think longevity starts from the day you are qualified. It starts from day 1 indoc which is your hire date. Just look at your ID card. (If you still have one.) Based on that, the moment anyone is called back and starts training, longevity would continue although they would only get training pay until the sim ride.
At least that is how I understood it. But according to captscott it seems longevity never stopped ticking.

Thats not what bored meant. He was referring to why someones pay might be less while in training. Yes longevity starts from day one but the contract says you don't get the monthly guarantee until you are finished with training.

Correct, but we are done with new hire training and will be paid in accordance with the contract:
So, it seems to me that we should be getting paid 4 hours a day * 5 days of training plus 50% credit for a deadhead from and to ACY since that's where we are based. I have also been assigned 3 days of reserve after training for the remainder of April, so i think my pay should be:
4*5+3*4+(2:35+2:30)/2 = 34.54 hours.
This or they give us prorated guarantee for the remainder of April. Either way, its going to be a mess and we will have to get it corrected.

Let me get this straight... You are one of the 12 recalls? Your recall date is on May 1, 2009... You were issued 3 reserve days at the end of April? Call me a jerk, but can they do that?

The recall date will be whatever date training is set to start. It will be different than the Base Bid Award effective date, which is May 1st. Once the recalls are qualified they will be assigned duty for the rest of April, at least thats how it worked for the last round of recalls.
