DAL Manual services
Since I can't get them to return an email I figured I would ask my question here. I ordered manuals last friday for my transition to the MD88. The online order form says please allow 2-4 days for the manuals to be ready. Will some call me and let me know when I can pick them up or should I just show up after 4 days and assume they will be ready?

I dunno - the manual services page says this:
Please allow for the following order processing times:
* Revision requests: 2 - 3 weeks
* Operating Manuals, Jeppesen Manuals, & Conversion Kit requests: 2 - 3 weeks
I think they will ship it to your base unless you specify otherwise. In ATL, they might put a note in your v-file and put the box in the old chart room.

Um call em if you are going soon. It is the only way you will get them in time. Most do not get ther Jepp conversion kit until the first day of 300's
Now that said, I requested mine four months out and I still had to go talk to them. Most of the other manuals are printed up. It is the jepp fills that are special order.

Yeah, I tried calling yesterday and I got an answering machine that said that they do not answer the phone and only listen to the messages twice a day. So I emailed asking if someone would call me and let me know when I could pick them up. I am still waiting for a reply. I am pretty sure that the online form said 2-4 days for the aircraft manuals and 2-3 weeks for the jepps. Am I wrong?

I am currently on mil leave & will not be back in base until I go to training. I ran into the same problem, answering machine & no reply to email. I didn't know who else to call so I started calling everyone I could think of that could point me in the right direction or possibly help me get the manuals. I finally talked to one of the guys in CPSC & they told me that to send an email with my home address & the manuals would be mailed to me (if it costs more than $15 they will call).

See thats fine but I live in ATL and I can easily go and pick them up. I just want to know when they will be ready.

I have very good results with ordering them off of DAL net. I also do it for any pages I want replaced. I generally get them in a few days to a week.
With all of this training going on, it is best to get in your car and dive up there. They normally will have the QRH, OM 1 and 2, hardcards, etc in ample supply. If you go there, you normally can get them day of. I also recall that their hours have changed. I think the close at 1530 now.
As for the Jepps. When you send the request to them, they have to manually put the fill together. It is not a priority for them. I ordered mine many times the day I was given the AE. Four months later when I started training they still did not have it done. Going to the window the day of 101 and 102 and bugging them got them to do it before I started 200's. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
