Default Latest on Midwest Airlines

Any news on Midwest Airlines? The latest rumour up here in Milwaukee is the Republic E170s are going away for good in May. According to a buddy of mine currently furloughed from Midwest, the few pilots they sent to E170 training have been furloughed and not replaced--and the maintenance dept has stopped it's preparations for the arrival of the aircraft.

ACL, you hearing anything about Delta's plans for it's stake in Midwest or if there's any talk of incorporating them into Delta's operation in some fashion?

I have heard what you have heard. *** knows.

It's ok though, TH has snowed the media and MKE elite to believing his crap so none of this will be reported on. MKE's hometown airline is now IND and St. George, Utah's hometown airline.

I would hope that we would move jet there, but anything that could be talked about is under a NDA.

My good friend a manager there at YX, told me that yesterday the company let go of 60+ management positions. He had a meeting about it as soon as I learn more I will share the info. He said, many different positions have been cut in management, and he believes that YX will go under very shortly and the certificate will then go to RAH, and that was the plan for the RAH's management team to get the certificate and operate bigger metal under the MIDWEST name. No one knows who Republic Airways is, but people know who Midwest Airlines is. Very sad news to many of the employees there who have been let go of, after many years with the company.

Sad news, indeed. Good luck to those who continue to be affected by TH&Co's incompetence at running a profitable airline.

Sounds sadly familiar to Mesa operating under the Aloha name...

Republic will keep the flying until Midwest goes chapter 7.

ALPA national received millions of dollars from this membership for services, but the legal department didn't review the scope language. ALPA should have canned language covering scope at all carriers.

A contract is worthless without scope. ALPA national was not worth the money MEA030 members paid.

This rumor has surfaced in the past here at RAH. It has never materialized till now. Maybe not a rumor after all. Let us hope this is not the case as this would be a travesty to our industry as pilots.

If Midwest goes Ch 7, I think a bankruptcy judge will determine who buys the certificate, not automatically going to Republic.

RAH already made a $35M (or was it $30M?) down payment....
