My guess is that Midwest will remain in name alone, but will get new paint. It's another certificate in the RAH stable and will be kept separate from Shuttle and Republic to keep existing contracts clean (scope issues). MKE will be kept to prevent Airtran from getting a really strong foot-hold up there. TH will be gone and will, hopefully, be run out of town by torch/pitchfork-toting townspeople.

[quote=DAL4EVER;552628]Again, I don't remember the exact specifics so I'm talking from a shady memory. But I do recall that we dropped them over this as they were now competing against mainline not flying for them. If Republic does the same thing in MKE with Midwest, don't you think DAL may have some serious heartburn with this. They are already trying to find a way to get rid of significant numbers of 50 seaters and this could accomplish that.
One point... DAL owns 47% of Midwest. If TPG sells its 53% stake to Republic it would become a Republic/Delta partnership.

I was referring to being "separate" like Republic is kept separate from Shuttle is kept separate from Chautaugua.

Bedford has done a lot of shady things on his own in the past. However with this situation, I think his masters at DL/NW are pulling the strings. He's mentioned before that RAH will never follow the Expressjet/Independence business model. BB knows his place in the grand scheme of things, and wouldn't do anything to bite the hand that feeds him.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Midwest product disappears all together and RAH picks up a bit more Delta flying as compensation. Sad sad situation...

Oh and for giggles RAH has up to 99 seat pay, of course it isn't any different than the current 86 seat.... regardless, I would rather see Midwest fold up shop than Republic somehow snag that flying. That way major type airlines with major type pay and benefits can pick up the slack....good for the aviation community.

As long as you keep your seniority number, right?

Our contract says you eat Midwest pilots, our contract (and our 88 seat rates definitely beat yours so this is a plus for you) and ALPA as their representative if you buy Midwest Airlines, Inc. (and its certificate).

If it's bought. What about if it is liquidated and assets sold?
