Latest on Midwest Airlines

What a hen house this thread has become. Cak, Cak, Cak, bunch a hens. Very humorous to see educated intelligent people (pilots?) degrade to little boys and girls out on the play ground, throwing mud at each other yelling "wait till I tell my airline what your airline is doing." "My airline is gonna beat your airline up, my airplane's bigger than your airplane" LOL Funny stuff guys.., please continue.
Hey let's have Blackwater fly 75% of all USAF missions from now on and see how well that works. That's what these mgmt idiots are doing.

This is how bad this industry has become. Please don't take it out on me that you have to put up with whatever Regional (EFIS COMP MON) you are at and not with your squadron buddies at DAL or Continental.

So as you said, it's these "management idiots" who are making these arbitrary decisions with no apparent regard for employees who put there life's work there. I don't think that there is a single RAH pilot who isn't sympathetic to what you guys are going through. Also that it could be them that's next. I'm one of them. It's a ****ty situation that should have never happened and if we could change history by shear will power there's no pilot on either side that would have wanted this believe me. I can't speak for all but of those who'm I've flown with and discussed Midwest.., I've not encountered anyone who was joyful or gleaful about it. The prevelant attitude has been, the situation stinks to high heaven but we still have jobs to do. Our respective managements put us in this position plain and simple, we didn't get to chose.., none of us did. Well anyway <sigh> for what it's worth, I wish things were different, I really do. I truely wish you and your family the best of luck in the future. Take care.

Beech,
You are right about management, and I believe 320 knows that, too. From that last post, it looks like you are at RAH. I don't believe this statement is totally accurate, "I don't think that there is a single RAH pilot who isn't sympathetic to what you guys are going through."
If you look back, one of your Brickyard brethren has voiced a rather smug opinion of the Republic-Midwest deal, something about RAH being the savior of Midex. I think this attitude it what set things off.
SkyWAY had the same situation with SkyWEST when they arrived on the D Concourse. There were some tense moments that were quelled (for the most part), but the smug attitude of just a few of the SkyWEST pilots kept heat on the situation. Aside for the oil/water attitude fit with the operation, there were still people who would brag (and laugh about it) that SkyWEST should take all of SkyWAY's flying and put them out of business. Although that is not word-for-word, that is what some quentessential ipod, hair gel kid said in the booth right behind me and a couple of other SkyWAY pilots.
I these situations were handled through back-channels, and much of it subsided. This is just my experience how one (or a few) bad apples can ruin the whole bunch.

Back in late August/early Sept when our management made the announcement that we had loaned Midwest some money and we were going to fly for them. I'll admit that I wasn't familiar with the airline and as I did some research on the whole situation and what info our management put forth, my first inclination was to have the belief that maybe we were in fact trying to keep them afloat (in an attempt to get our parked Frontier 170's) back to work) I realize it's about the money and that RAH wouldn't make any investment where they didn't see a potential for a return (with interest). Of course we all learned later about the unfortunate events that would unfold as they did for the Midwest pilot group.
I agree that people making snide remarks (while you see your job slipping away before your very eyes) demonstrates a distinct lack of class, character, and maturity. All I can say is that it's not something I would let go uncorrected. Karma (both good and bad) has a way with catching up to us all. In this industry, you just never know upon who's door you'll be knocking, and more importantly, who's gonna be standing on the other side. Especially in this economy. Best of luck to you and yours.

Call what you want...
Wave the BS flag all you want. My wife and kids flew on one 2 weeks ago and even they complained about the seats. "No cushion, like sitting on plywood for 3 hours." Personally, I've never been on one so I can't say for sure, but my wife and kids don't typically complain about things like that and they have travelled A LOT under many different conditions. I'm just passing on what I have heard other saying.
