If a person is bad enough to go to jail, he should get the death penalty. If not, he should receive a tattoo on the face and do supervised, no rights, community service. We could also contract with Turkey to administer our prison system in their country. Just some random (not fascist, instead pro-justice) thoughts.

It is a shame "the system" has changed so much. Fifteen years ago there might have been an "unfortunate accident" during an escape attempt resulting in the prisoner's death.

Not that I condone that sort of thing, but I understand why it might happen.

Ellicott gets 3 life sentences for assaulting wife

Judge: guilty verdicts represent ‘death of a monster’

In all likelihood, Michael William Ellicott will spend the rest of his days in prison for brutally assaulting his wife in their Peachtree City home.

Superior Court Judge Paschal A. English today sentenced Ellicott, who is 48, to three consecutive life sentences, each of which he must serve a minimum of 25 years before being paroled. Ellicott was also sentenced to an additional 20 consecutive years in prison.
Not that he doesn't deserve it, but some murderers with undeniable evidence and confessions don't get this much time.

And just when he thought he was going to leave those yearly proctology exams behind. Ooops...pardon the pun.

Depends on who you murder and who you are. Rapper "Jay-Z" Shawn Carter pulls a 5 inch blade in a crowded club, stabs a co-worker in the gut a few times (clearly potentially fatal) and gets ... probation. Then he gets caught with a gun, clearly in violation of probation and gets out of it by having his "driver" say the gun was actually his. You or I would be in jail. Heck, we'd have gotten worse for going 60 in a 45.

I've heard a story a a Delta applicant who passed NASA's psych evaluation to fly the Shuttle, but for some reason the interview psych evaluation wouldn't pass the same individual.

I guess you never really know what demons a person has in them sometimes.
What about the diaper wearing astronaut?

I guess the big question is did he rock or not rock during the psych interview?

Every psych program everywhere has glaring examples of those who "slipped through the cracks."

Heck, they let me slip by.

Yeah, I think somebody else mentioned that already.
I've also heard of a bunch of fighter guys get the ax on the psych evaluation, but I guess that still doesn't prove much of a point.

I just don't think that the psych evaluation is all that accurate.
