Default CAL System Bid

Looks like the bid is out. Only thing of note I see is that the 29 seatless pilots will have one now. Those that were holding their breath for those LAX, or MCO crew bases..........

Just because LAX wasn't on this bid, it doesn't mean that it will never happen. If CAL wants a LAX base, they will offer it on a bid when they are ready. If CAL doesn't want it, then it won't happen. This bid means: no LAX this year.

"NEW PILOT BASES
Flight Operations has received a number of emails from pilots curious about rumors surrounding the establishment of new pilot bases.
Exploring the potential for additional bases isn’t new; we are always evaluating the best way to manage flight operations, including the potential advantages and disadvantages of opening additional bases.* The current analysis is focused on the possible addition of one or two B737 bases in either the Central Florida and/or Southern California areas. That analysis, which must take into consideration an extraordinarily wide range of operational and economic matters, including for example:
aircraft flows, pilot residence demographics, potential impact to existing pairing productivity both in base and system-wide, facility and administrative costs etc. is in progress, and no deadline has been set for its completion
We will keep you updated as this develops."

Wow.......I now consider myself informed. When Cal wants a LAX base, they'll offer it on a bid. Got it.
